Re: 3/28 - 4/14 Game Discussion Thread
Hey now, careful. We have Pillar now, remember? Plus Bumgarner, don't forget he homered earlier too!
Plus, the Giants figured out Tatis and it looks like they told Greinke about that inside half as well.
I was certainly wishing greater fortunes for Lauer tonight though, since he was my only fantasy starter of the evening.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Two leagues can have different rules, with the integration of them it makes less sense to.
That aside from the fact that pitchers hitting homers one night doesn't negate their collective awfulness.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

On that same token, I feel like putting the DH in the NL would also mean: "Hey, screw unbalanced schedules and this idea of 'interleague play'. Just play every team all the time!" Imagine playing almost every team six times a season. No? Okay. Me neither.
Adding the DH means that these pitchers can't ever hit homers again ever, unless they pull a Babe Ruth or Rick Ankiel. I always liked the idea of pitchers helping out their own cause. I also like that the sacrifice bunt is still an existing part of this game.
As for AL/NL differences, anyone remember back when that it always seemed like NL home teams had their dugouts on the 1st base side, and AL home stadiums had their dugouts on the 3rd base side? That's just totally not a thing any longer, heh.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: 3/28 - 4/14 Game Discussion Thread
It doesn't? Now you are just being foolish. Walking the 8 hitter to get to the pitcher. Should you keep the pitcher in for a big at bat when you need a run or pull him for a pinch hitter when hes pitching well. Double switches. Come on man. You can't sit there and say it doesn't take away from the game lol.Comment

You can't change my mind, if you think that the DH requires zero strategy, then I'm not the one being foolish.Boston Red Sox

But the strategy argument can really be made for any rule that is in or out, including the three-batter rule for incoming pitchers that might be implemented. So I constructed more rules in this post that would technically require more strategy. More strategy doesn't always equate to good rule. It just depends on what you're willing to work with and what you're not.
Anyway, what I never liked is AL fans telling us to put in DH. NL fans aren't telling you guys to remove DH, and we wouldn't want you to anyway. If the ultimate compromise was that during any interleague/WS game that the DH rule was in effect, and that allowed the NL to keep the DH for the foreseeable future (aka my lifetime), then I would be accepting of that. I wouldn't prefer it, but I'll absolutely settle there.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: 3/28 - 4/14 Game Discussion Thread
Tonight the Phillies 8 hole hitter was intentionally walked 3 times. One of which the pitcher put together a great at bat, fighting off pitches which eventually led to a wild pitch and a run. That is the baseball I enjoy.
The same reason I am souring on the new NBA. More offense isn't always "better".Comment
