Mendoza sucks, but the problems with ESPN's baseball broadcasts go far deeper than her.
The mics turned up to 500% so that every bit of contact sounds like it's part of a Civil War reenactment, focusing on all the incessant dumb, vapid side features and graphics packages, the incredibly dumbed down Vasgerian and A-Rod, the dumb strike zone overlay (though that's a problem with all baseball broadcasts), the insistence on focusing on one superstar (I get it, it's what ESPN does) throughout the entire broadcast, the static bottom line, the constant laughing.....on and on.

I don't know if Ender runs on his own...but why would you be stealing right there? If he's out we lead off with Teheran instead of clearing the pitcher...just seems like a poor decision. Josh Donaldson gonna trick people into thinking he's back.
And my only issue with the ESPN broadcast is the gunshot. I love the graphics, I love the interviews from the dugout, I love the legendary players in the booth. Literally the only thing I don't like is the gunshot.Boston Red Sox

It's the 6th inning and the ESPN broadcast has done both the "what does Cano mean to the Mets?" and "Braves historical #3 hitters are all Mets killers!" discussions twice.
Terrible broadcast. Terrible. Can't believe I have to endure this **** next Sunday too. Actually maybe not if I'm at family's house for Easter.Comment

Don't know what you got....'til it's gone.
Since my last post, we've had a half inning slobbering over Pete Alonso and strapping young men and comparisons to Rob Gronkowski and I don't even know what, and a Julio Teheran interview from outside the clubhouse as if the game finished 45 min ago and he's about to leave the stadium. And as I'm typing this, they cut to the booth so Vasgersian can ask Mendoza about her conflict of interest and to talk about Jacob deGrom even though he's not even in the game anymore.Comment

ARod does give good analysis but I never hear much from Mendoza.
Put Matty and DeRosa together I say. Dude is great on MLB Central.

EVERYBODY online hated Morgan during his last days. There was even a site called Fire Joe Morgan. Morgan may be stuck in the past but at least he was entertaining to listen to. I can't watch much of ESPN because of A-Rod's clearly fake personality and it saddens me that Matty V completely dumbs himself down for ESPN.
