Joey Gallo is the 3rd fastest to 100 home runs in MLB history, behind Ryan Howard and Ralph Kiner. He is the fastest in American League history.

He's also the first player in MLB history to hit 100 home runs before hitting 100 singles.

Addison Russell recalled and starting at 2B for the Cubs tonight. Zobrist placed on the restricted list

This is quickly turning into an ugly Jays season.

And something I haven't seen, are you allowed to run to 1B on a hit, not touch the bag with your feet, touch it with your hand, then continue past?

I know obviously you're allowed to run past 1B on a single, but didn't know you could do so by touching it with your hand.

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to survive this Blue Jays rebuild. I need you guys to talk me back from the ledge.

We haven't scored in 24 innings and Vlad, who isn't even playing tonight, has been less than awe inspiring in his first 10 games.

Marlins lead Cubs 1-0. Cubs got'em right where they want'em.

That's the thing about baseball which sucks. What's there to get excited about in a rebuild?

In hockey/basketball especially, you deal away vets for picks, lower your salary(or at times take on an expiring deal to get an extra pick), and the worse you do, the higher pick you get which gives you better shot at a top guy.

In baseball, what is accomplished by losing? Draft picks mean next to nothing. If you trade a vet, it's for some A or AA ball prospect who might not even make it to the big leagues.

Having few playoff teams and no "tank nation" for the bottom teams gives us too much meaningless baseball for too many teams.

You have to just really love baseball as a whole to even stand watching a rebuild.

Every domestic player was a draft pick previously. To say they mean next to nothing is not true

I meant the order of it.

Not like in other leagues where #1 pick is franchise changing player. Or 5th pick is much more likely to be a star vs 105th pick

Well, Strop's been put on IL, and Cishek couldn't get it done tonight with a 1 run lead. Open auditions for Cub closer?

Closer by committee is never a good idea.
