Okay, thanks for the video, I would say he should be out in the case but not because he used his hand, I would call him out in that case even if he had tapped it with his foot and then stepped off since he had gone past first without touching it.

Edit: I see the video. I would imagine it would be subjective to the ump there. He turned towards the dugout which usually keeps you safe at first after running through the bag so I could see how technically he'd be safe if you tagged him. Had he turned towards second instead I'd call him out every time.

Yea, weird situation, he didn’t make a move towards second but to me, since he went past first base first and had to backtrack to touch the bag I would think that negates the rule allowing runners to run through first.

I’m with you on this as umps discretion.

But you can't do that at 2B or 3B and still be safe unless you fully advance to the next base.

Rizzo gets the nice round number as a Cub - 200 homers with the team following a few days after his overall 200th (1 with the Padres).

Bryant and Rizzo have both gone deep today.

That really confused me for a second. Didn't realize he hit one with the Padres

Apparently the fan who caught Albert Pujols' 2,000th RBI ball declined to exchange it for anything, Pujols/Trout-signed gear. Many offers were made by #Tigers and #Angels officials. The guy left the stadium. The ball is not authenticated. It is worth nothing once fan left park.

I don't have enough outrage left for this one. I thought I'd be madder when he came back, but felt more 'meh'. He got about 65% boos and 35% cheers in his first AB. I think he's probably not good enough of a hitter to stick around too much longer anyway.

I'd be the opposite. I'd be the guy who'd bring it right over to the dugout and refuse compensation. I can understand holding out for some signed merch, but to me the baseball is symbolic of the player's blood, sweat, and tears. I have very little right to that, imo.

I don't really understand this. Wouldn't you and fans want to see him succeed? He's paid for what he's done. Now hopefully he can learn from it, understand his terrible decision, and become a good player for a long time.

This isn't a shot at you, but its hypocritical to me that fans booed him. I'm pretty certain most people out there made some awful mistakes in their life. But it's just not front and center for the whole world to see.

In more positive news I'm happy to see Kris Bryant come back to form. Sometimes injuries can ruin a guy mentally. Looks pretty damn comfortable up there again.

Hope the guy realizes that and just wanted to keep it for himself that badly. If not that’s gonna suck for him when he finds out.
