4/29 - 5/12 Game Discussion Thread
Didn't get to watch much due to a ridiculous week last week, so hopefully I can get back into the swing of things myself.Tags: None -
Re: 4/29 - 5/12 Game Discussion Thread
Cardinals are playing good baseball right now. Hopefully we can keep it up over these next two weeks.
May see Carlos Martinez back by the time this thread is over.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

After the first 4 weeks, the Twins are tied for fewest losses in MLB with the Rays. Just like everyone predicted. I'll take it.
Going into yesterday, saw this stat:
Most team home runs in MLB history through 24 games:
53 - 2019 Mariners
53 - 2000 Cardinals
47 - 2019 Twins
47 - 2019 Brewers
Juicing those balls even more this year??Comment

I think Vlad breaks out in Anaheim or Texas. The hoopla of debuting at home may have gotten him a bit out of his rhythm. I expect big things this week.

Re: 4/29 - 5/12 Game Discussion Thread
The A's are only here once every six years and I don't think I'll be able to go to one game this weekend.
My wife is going to be in Europe so on Friday I will have to get the dog after work and don't really want to drive all the way home, take the dog out and then go back downtown.
Saturday and Sunday I have a couple golf rounds scheduled. (Wasn't thinking of this series when they were scheduled).
Last time they were here I went to all three games but it was a weekday series if I recall correctly and we didn't have a dog making it much easier to just walk across the bridge after work.Comment

That bunt play/error in the SD/ATL game was one of the weirdest plays I've ever seen...crazy how you always see something new no matter how long you watch this game."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. The home plate umpire in this Atlanta/SD game is horrendous. Fortunately he's been bad for both sides, but man...There have been 4 or 5 pitchers over the heart of the plate called balls, and Soroka just threw called strike 3 at the ankles.Comment

I'm developing a pitcher crush on Mike Soroka...a pitcher who throws strikes? So refreshing..."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Sigh...watching Tomlin nibble compared to Soroka going after hitters is a pretty stark contrast."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment
