Re: 7/11 - 7/21 Game Discussion Thread
Ultimately, even if you disagree with it, there's absolutely no way to remove it without automated strike zones. If you also disagree with that, then you're simply complaining just to complain.
And by "you" I'm referring to anyone in general, not you specifically.Comment

Where does it rank in regards to making bait posts in an attempt to get a rise/reaction out of said Phillies’ fans?

In regard to our regularly scheduled program, I'm gonna feel lucky if the Phils split this series with LA. The only thing I can hope for is that Kershaw was up late last night watching the Boston game and the plane ride was rocky (get it?)Last edited by daflyboys; 07-15-2019, 11:10 AM.Comment

Because it's not tricking. There's no misdirection. It's presenting a pitch.

I personally want every single sport to get to a point where every single call an official makes is spot on so in the end I am against tricking officials by presenting something that was not. That doesn't mean I can't appreciate the magnificent framer Tyler Flowers is, but in the end I still want every sport to have error free officiating so when I see Matrix complaining about officials being influenced incorrectly by a player's presentation, I agree with him. When I see people mocking him because he doesn't post the same boring way everyone else does, I just get confused. The man's point is clear, he doesn't like seeing players trick officials into making incorrect calls. I figured just about anyone here would agree with that complaint, but it seems that is not the case.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: 7/11 - 7/21 Game Discussion Thread
Isnt checking your swing as bad as pitch framing, if not worse? After all, if theres an appeal to a base ump, you're trying to pull one over on 2 umps. And disturbing the new pace of play, those seconds are precious.
And on topic, if the Twins are still in first place after the Trade Deadline I'll be a converted true believer.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: 7/11 - 7/21 Game Discussion Thread
Framing a pitch is literally tricking the umpire into thinking the pitch was somewhere it was not. Using the word present does not change that.

So do you want automated strike zones, or do you have some other way to remove the effects of pitch framing?

It's not my job to think of what would be the best way to get error-free officiating. I only claim to want error-free officiating. Please don't try and do a "gotcha!" with me on the subject. I address all of you with respect and I only ask for the same in return.
Thank you

One wind aided homer in the books. This could be a football looking score by the end of the game with this wind at Wrigley

I know that, but I think you understand the point I was making. I want officiating to be as good as it can possibly be.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I think the NL MVP is Bellinger’s to lose, IMO, but Freeman is doing his best to get in the conversation.

Outstanding baserunning by Rizzo. That was MLB the show level run on the wild pitch
