The Twins currently have the best run differential in the AL, but they also play in the weakest division in baseball. If you look at their 1st half schedule, you notice that they've been cleaning house against the likes of Chicago (AL), Detroit, Kansas City, Baltimore, and Seattle. But, they've been playing about even (or not even that good) against the likes of New York (AL), Boston, Oakland, Houston and so forth. The schedule has just had way more tomato cans on it than quality opponents.

It's really just a matter of beating the teams they're supposed to be beating. The Twins have been doing a great job of that (I wish I could say as much for the Cubs..). If the Twinkies keep doing that, and Cleveland's offense remains this flaccid, then the Twins will win the division for sure. I don't really consider the Twins to be a World Series contender, but winning the division would be nice.
I'm definitely a What Have You Done Me For Lately kind of guy and that probably clouds my vision for Minnesota. Interestingly, back in '87 the Twins were the first team to show me how quickly things can get righted. I started watching Mlb in 1981 and through those first six years, only Seattle had a worse overall record .

Still, the Cleveland Twins series this weekend should be Octoberworthy

Nice to see Heyward come up with the go-ahead RBI here after the bullpen blew it and after Heyward decided not to score on a wild pitch in the previous inning.

If that's true you may want to double check your prediction of the Rangers passing the A's.

We got Sonny Gray vs Jon Gray in Denver, and Shaun Anderson against Chase Anderson at Miller Park.
Anderson and Gray will have good nights.

I hope all 4 pitchers fail to make it 5 innings and not due to injury.

Archer pitched well, Pirates battled, but if they want to contend in the second half they have to pick up games like today.

Lol, I just turned on Jays game and the matchup right now is Sanchez vs Sanchez.

                Aaron vs Gary.

Edwin killing the Jays while the Yankees crowd in full support. I can't take this.

Dana Demuth leaves the game with a nasty welt on his forearm after getting tagged by a foul ball.

Which puts Angel Hernandez behind the plate.

And hit a 2 run double in his 2nd at bat of the 1st inning. The Angels have come out inspired tonight.
