Held on 10-7, though the tying run did get to the plate in the 9th. Not gonna be too picky about how we get the wins at this point, especially on the road and up against someone like Thor.

Cards lost, so it's a 2 game lead over the Cubs.

I agree. I mean, you can never count on chalk in the playoffs, but the Dodgers are so far ahead of the Cubs and Cardinals, I don't see any way either of those teams gets through a series in LA.

Also, forgot to mention that last night Jackie Bradley, Jr. hit the longest Red Sox HR of the statcast era. 478 feet.

And tonight, Xander Boegarts reached 30 homers and 100 RBIs. He's the first American League SS to do so since Nomar in 1998 (also with Boston).

I want to see the Orioles dugout as one Royal Rumble by the end of the season. Players hitting coaches over the head with folding chairs. Coaches taking swings at players with fungo bats. I need to see this.

It was the ESPN app, and even it technically just said "first SS since 1998". Didn't specify Boston or American League.

Baseball is crazy though, it's really about who is hot and who doesn't make mistakes.

I still find it incredulous that GMs dont make the bullpen the most focused area of the team given how the game is played now. A horse in the pen completely changes a series.

I just checked...both ARod and Miguel Tejada did it 6 times after 1998. I didn’t check anyone else, but I think it’s clear the tweet meant first Boston SS to do it since Nomar.
