So the Red Sox are 76-67 and coming off of a WS title last year. Dombrowski gets fired.

The Cubs are 76-66 and coming off a WS title a few years ago. I wonder if Theo's sweating it any?

Honestly he should be. I didn't think after winning a WS it be like this if that makes me a bad fan so be it. I'm not saying they should be like the Astros or Dodgers at developing talent but they shouldn't be this far behind either. That's what I'm most concerned it. They've been very bad at developing talent other than high 1st round picks. Because that way you don't have to overspend for Relievers or Starters.

I don't mind the bad signings it happens though Darvish over Arrieta was completely the right choice. it's funny they are in this position also because they refused to spend this offseason ahem Ricketts did my apologies.

Rather cowardly of the Red Sox to not hold a press conference today to explain the move. Especially since the players were asked questions about it.

Dropped 2 of 3 to Cleveland over the weekend but still hold a 5.5 game lead with 19 games left. 3 left against Cleveland. Going in to the weekend, I figured that if the 6 games against Cleveland were split, the division would be essentially over. Gonna have to win the series in Cleveland over the coming weekend now to do that. Also have to get through the Nats this week.

But after that Cleveland series, the Twins schedule is 3 vs. White Sox, 4 vs. Royals, 3 @ Tigers, 3 @ Royals.

It's looking pretty good right now - don't pull a Minnesota Sports(TM) here guys.

Great to see Big Papi throwing out the first pitch at Fenway Park before the Sox/Yanks game tonight.

How about this for snake bitten?

Javy Baez breaks his hand on a slide. His backup Addison Russell gets beaned in the face and is showing concussion symptoms. And his replacement, AAA depth piece Dixon Machado is also on the DL for the Iowa Cubs. This is how we get to starting a recent 1st round draft pick, Nico Hoerner, at SS in what purports to be a playoff race.

For the first time ever, the Red Sox and Yankees went an entire season without having a 1-run game.

In Nico we trust. lol. The youngster showing out here at Petco.

Gets his 1st MLB hit in his first AB. Just cleans the bases right here with a triple. Has made several nice plays in the field (some throwing inaccuracy, bailed out by Rizzo) because of course the ball will find the newb.

Poor Schwarbs. That looked painful. His voice might be an octave higher after that foul tip/cup shot.
