It might just be me, it might be cooler temps at ST, etc, but the ball really doesn't seem to be jumping like last year. I've seen several balls off that bat that I think "that's gone" and it doesn't even make the track. I fully expect after last season MLB to dial back the ball (I think we saw this in October) and for home run totals to really fall this year, very similar to 1988 after 1987.

It's funny hearing them talk about "cool temperatures", showing audience shots of people who are clearly locals (because the vacationing tourists are wearing tshirts) in the crowd wearing a hoodie, jacket and other things. When I see what the temperature is, it's basically late May weather over here!

I'll happily take that weather, and not be wearing a jacket or sweater outside.

I can deal with temperatures in the 50's ( Fahrenheit) but when it goes south of that I'll need some long sleeves. unless its raining and in the 50's, prefer long sleeves then.

              Spring Training baseball.

Game ends in a tie with runner caught stealing at 3rd.

a tie is like kissing your mother's sister...
except in spring training, where it's like kissing your wife's sister.

They observed this during the Cubs game yesterday, too. They were interviewing Jed Hoyer and he made a comment on a ball that was caught in front of the warning track, that he thought it was gone.

Cardinals commit two errors in the first that leads to a Marlins run.

                          Ahhhh...Spring Training baseball..

Matthew Liberatore with a rough Spring debut for the Cardinals

                              2/3 IP - 3 hits and 5 earned runs.

Takes a loss, a blown save, and a 67.50 ERA to the clubhouse this afternoon.
