Having seen this I will now say that Delgado will go to Miami. I think that one of the things that will be a big factor in him signing to any club is the makeup of the city. He loved the multiculturalism of Toronto. Miami isn't as diverse as NY but there's a lot to like about the area in terms of media prescence, climate and the makeup of the city.

I am a huge Mets fan and as of a couple of days agao I really wanted him. I also don't think he will sign with the Mets. In fact I hope he does not. I am so sick of his agent and him. they have acted so unprofessional in these negotiations I don't care any more. If the money is all the same why would he not go to the Mets? Maybe he is no a big market player. Baltimore is not wining
anything in the near future. he will be basicly be replacing A Blue Jays type of team. At least the Marlins are fairly good. I still feel if you are abig time player and the money is the same you can make so much more in endorsements playing in New York. Oh well there is always Travis Lee

what i have to laugh at is his agent - saying that the Mets had no better chance of making the WS than the Orioles.. guess he hasnt really seen too much of the AL East the past several years..

I wonder about the future of the Marlins franchise in Miami. Is'nt there something about them moving away to another city if they don't secure a new ballpark by a certain date? Any Florida fans have further info about this?

If I recall correctly, there was something stated about funding for a new stadium a little while back. I think the city agreed to pony up a certain amount, and that may have gotten the ball rolling again for a new stadium.

yeah thats from awhile back, and i havent heard anything else on the matter. i really hope they stay in miami. i just cant see my Marlins anywhere else, but South Fla.

Yeah, I said that this morning... They said this is their 'walk away' offer however, so it's the last contract they'll offer. MSG reports the O's have upped the Mets offer again but doesn't state any specifics.

Marlins offer was said to be their 'walk away' offer too. Doesn't say the same of the O's offer.

apparently all offers now are 4 yr/ 50-51 mil.. but again the Orioles are making a big mistake because they need some pitching.. oh well, i guess Delgado will love finishing in 3rd once again..
