I do love Mota as a setup man. Who is there closer? David Wright has more upside then Mike Lowel. Reyes will be great. If you don't think Beltran is not great you did not see last years NLCS. Who do the Marlins have who is as good of a five tool player? Are you a Marlins fan? The GM for Delgado is full of Sh**. The Mets never pulled out. He also made a stupid comment saying the Orioles wher as good as the Mets and not that far off from contending.
What is he smoking? They have one good starter and did nothing in the off season. Delgado can go to Florida. He is not a team guy. He wants all the lime light. Maybe he can learn some respect and stand for God Bless America! Sometimes the best deals are the ones we don't make. Get Travis Lee and get Mags with an incentive based contract. Move Cameron or Floyd for pitching prospects.
You will be eating your words when the Marlins win the division over the Mets. As far as Beltran goes.... he hasn't proven himself worth a damn as of yet in my eyes. So he hit some homers in the playoffs, big deal. He's certainly no Albert Pujols when it comes to offense. Good luck with your new $119 million unproven, overated young player. We'll see what Beltran is really made of his 1st year in New York.

woah slow the horses there. great another Marlins fan is on board, but the division? until the Braves are dethroned im happy with the Wild Card. every year they win and I'm not gettin my hopes up, because like every year they win. plus if we get the Wild Card we go to the WS and win.

Who is a better five tool player at his age now? Marlins may not even be in Florida since theycan't get a ballpark deal done. Oh yeah how about that great fan base they have? The last time they won the Championship they did not have a sellout till the World Series. Why are you comparing him to Albert Pujols they
play different pstions. If you are making an argument who is better the Marlins or the Mets stick to those teams. Pujols did not play big in the NLCS compared to Beltran. Who's number where better in the big games. Do you really think the Mets are done dealing in late Jan ? I think the Mets have much more money to play with then the Marlins.

I don't know what fanbases have to do with anything, but the Marlins have Two World Championships in the last few years, the Mets haven't had one since 1986.

You keep saying 5 tool player, but when is he going to use all 5 tools. He hit .267 last year he's a lifetime .287 hitter. He's hit 30+ Hr's in a year once, and got some help from the bandbox ballpark in Houston getting to that 30 HR. . His OBB and OPS don't say 5 tool player yet.

Call him a 5 tool player, when he actually puts them all together in one year.

I agree Beltran has a ton of talent, but he's not the MVP type 5 tool player you're making him out to be at this point. Will he be? Maybe, but he's not yet. One good postseason does not mean you are a great player. History is littered with players who had great post seasons only to never be heard from again for various reasons.

shelling out dough and overpaying for players left and right doesnt mean success though.

Exactly. See the Mets for the last several years to prove that.

True it does not. However it is not your money or mine. I am very glad to have Pedro and Beltran. It was not like the got average players. Both are great. Also the Mets will have there own tv network next year so they need to spend to get advertisers. You keep putting down the Mets, Who do you root for?
