Cool thing Jays did for their "home games".

Like others, they have cardboard cutouts in the crowd. But Jays going 1 step further and having a specific section in the crowd for players family's. Nice to have familiar faces even if they might be cardboard.

Twins snap a 4-game losing streak. They had one 4-game losing streak last season. Funny enough, also August 6th-9th.

Trout with a 2 hr game. Unties it in in the 8th with a bomb.

              Re: 8/3 - 8/16 Game Discussion Thread

One of my favorite things about Trout is how he always seems to say "yeah, nah, still me" when some other player gets bandied about as the "next best player to come" etc. He's always reminding people.

All the years in 2015, 2016 etc when people were waiting for "next" and Trout put up practically every year better than before.

Harper and Machado sign their contracts, Trout comes in with his bigger extension relatively soon after.

Passan writes about Tatis being the most exciting player in baseball and that gets released today, Trout does this tonight.

Every year they say he's the best and then he does something else or evolves or works on something in his game to somehow make him even better? Like some kind of adaptive all-learning cyborg or something.

That means more to me than any charges of "boring!" or some stupid backpack or outfit or tweeting or yelling during a game or bat flips whatever is supposed to indicate "edge" or "fun" or "personality" or whatever masturbatory garbage people like to throw around about athletes in sports.

Everyone has their style and that's what's awesome and endearing. Mike Trout's "silent" "nah, **** you" is my favorite. It's kinda like LaDainian Tomlinson's just hand the ball to the ref/soft flip thing. When you're that great, it's all you need to be great.

Of course, fortunately baseball is not a one man game. I hope they can find a way to get some pitching this offseason and some health so they can emerge next year.

It's incredibly disappointing how the angels have completely botched the prime of the greatest player of all time

First big league action tomight in Buffalo since 1905! I wonder if the game is at least broadcasted on local tv there. Would be nice for fans to watch that, especially with so many former Bisons players in the game.

Also, with this being the Jays first home game, they've had a 50/50 draw running for weeks now. Jackpot is over 800k!

I bought my tickets a while ago. If I win, I'll donate some to OS.

6 games for Ramon. 20 for Cintron. The league actually kinda got that right. Maybe Ramon appeals down to 4. Maybe.

Why have replay challenges if the people making decisions are stupid?

Jays had runner at 2B, throw goes to 2B, fielder dives for the bad throw, misses, and the runner is going to 3B.....except he couldnt leave 2B on time as the fielder wrapped his leg around the runners foot and trips him as the ump calls obstruction, so the runner trots down to 3B and gets tagged....and the ump calls him out!?

                        What?

Edit-Jays 50/50 is over 1 MILLION DOLLARS! MLB record by a wide margin.

Braves leaving runners all over the place in the first few innings; have to cash in.

Yikes; Braves really need Acuna/Albies to get healthy and a young pitcher or two to step up.

...and I continue to not be impressed withy Bryse Wilson. I know people are high on this kid, but every time I see him he's unimpressive.

Ugh. Anthony Bass allows a 3-run homer with two out in the ninth to Miami tie the game 4-4.

Not sure why Jordan Romano isn't closing games since he hasn't allow a hit in eight innings now and has filthy stuff.
