I mean, if you actually want to criticize him for "missing" a 3-0 take sign then do it in private.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Also, just found out that Chris Woodward's ONLY career grand slam (and his only home run of that season) came in the 9th inning with his team up by 6 runs. Nearly 16 years to the day.

Re: 8/17 - 8/30 Game Discussion Thread
Tingler just has all the signs of a perennial losing manager. Don't like a blowout win? Stop ****ing managing then. Did you forget how ****ing bad your bullpen and how it was a struggle to even finish this game? Did you forget that you also had a big lead that you blew against San Francisco? Or the numerous times you had a 1-0 game after the starting pitching gave you a great effort, only for the pen to serve up 5 or 6 runs?
Let's not forget about the questionable managing decisions, like bringing in a project converted reliever in a 1-0 game.
Wishful thinking that he gets fired today for this ****. Maybe he gets fired at the end of the season. **** off Tingler.Comment

Re: 8/17 - 8/30 Game Discussion Thread
This **** is so annoying about baseball. I get not swinging 3-0 in HS or maybe even college because of the gap in talent.
This is the Major ****ing Leagues. You don't want someone to hit a HR in a 3-0 count? Be ****ing better. This **** about stopping playing because of some arbitrary score needs to end.Comment

Let major leaguers play. Giving a take sign to one of the best players in baseball should be grounds for firing

The fact that the manager is still employed is ridiculous to me.
Tatis Jr is the best thing to happen to that franchise in a long, long time... and he did nothing wrong.Comment

Re: 8/17 - 8/30 Game Discussion Thread
Woodward is the same goof who defended a first baseman purposely dropping a foul pop up in order to give the pitcher a second chance to record his 200th strikeout of the season.
Get this insufferable goof out of the major leagues. He embodies all that is wrong with baseball.

I hope Tatis launches one tonight and stares down Woodward. And then ignores his own manager. **** both of them.

Re: 8/17 - 8/30 Game Discussion Thread
Don't want a guy hitting a grandslam on a 3-0 pitch when down 7 runs late?
Step 1: Don't get down by 7 runs
Step 2: Don't load the bases
Step 3: Don't get into a 3-0 count
Step 4: Don't groove a pitch to a power hitter
Failure to follow these steps may lead to having your feelings hurtI can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

If anything, more guys should be swinging on 3-0 pitches.
I know how guys, especially vets, often get the green light on 3-0 pitches if the pitch is in the perfect spot of the plate.
It baffles me how a guy would rather attempt to take a walk over swing at a real good pitch.Comment

It's an outcome focus instead of a process focus. I tell my guys to sit dead red on 3-0 and attack if they like it. They did a great job getting into a hitter's count, why take the bat out of their hands on the pitch that's likely going to be the best they see? Coaches drive me crazy sometimesComment

Re: 8/17 - 8/30 Game Discussion Thread
There's room for "blowout etiquette" in amateur sports, but not when you're actually paid to play the game.
If you're a professional baseball player and you're served a meatball down the middle, you should swing at it.I write things on the Internet.

**** the Rangers for making us go through this tedious *** discussion yet again and hearing about "this is the reason people don't like baseball!" as if other sports don't rely on dumb, manufactured drama for attention and viewership.Comment
