They really get so in love with the long ball...those teams in the 1990s could put the ball in play and knew how to generate runs if the long ball wasn’t there.

Yep. It doesn't work deeper into the post-season. From what I've seen it's Astros and Dodgers again. Go LA I guess. I'd love it if the Braves took it. But my betting side tells me its a rematch of those two.

Honestly, when Joe Maddon left Tampa after 2014 I thought the Rays were done...their success under Cash and seeing how Maddon has flamed out since 2016 makes me wonder how much was Maddon and how much was the system in Tampa.

We just lost to a team that hit two solo home runs.

And it just can't happen. Only positive I can see out if this is maybe it's good it was the Rays. If we advanced and lost to the Astros it would have been about as embarrassing as 04.

But this team fails with RISP. The homers are fun. But when it's gut check time. It just doesn't happen.

I honestly thought Chapman did fine. You don't usually want your closer coming in that early. Yankees pitching was tremendous tonight. But the bats fell silent when it was crunch time again. How many times have we seen this?

1 ****ing run with that lineup against a bunch of relievers. Unbelievable.

We only had 3 hits, they had the same number and more men LOB. Both teams were trash with RISP because the pitchers are good. It’s baseball, **** happens. There’s no conclusions to be drawn from this to me. We just lost.
