Bote probably dislocated his shoulder sliding into 2nd. Also gets called out on review for reaching out to interfere with the DP throw.

Stallings has turned into a decently solid catcher.

Braves walk yet another opposing pitcher. Is there somewhere you can check stats on things like what teams have walked the most pitchers?

        This just isn't Atlanta's night.

You walk the opposing pitcher, who clearly had no intention of swinging the bat.

The next half inning on offense, the umpire decides to expand the strike zone.

Then back on defense, the usually solid Heredia has a line drive bounce off the side of his glove, and the umpire does not continue the larger strike zone.

But maybe the person having the worst night is the Mets score keeper. They scored the Heredia play a double with an error, with the "error" resulting in a runner on 3rd. Which makes 0 sense. It's either an error or it's a triple. He's out if Heredia catches it, and since he didn't catch it, he ended up on 3rd. Both can't be true.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a catcher blatantly frame pitches as much as the Braves catcher but the ump doesn’t seem to be falling for it

I absolutely hate the way they have him playing. It's all set up so he can better frame the low strike. I haven't seen him steal too many strikes this season though, and it leaves him in such a poor fielding position.

Fenway Park went back to 100% capacity (it wasn't full because of the weather, but there was still roughly 20K-ish) and they picked up the win.

Ottavino got a strikeout to end the 7th with the bases loaded, and Fenway sounded like Game 7 of the World Series.

Mets would probably be in last place without Jonathan Villar

Assuming there's no more rain delays, tomorrow is Jays final games before they go to Buffalo.

All the attention in this city now shifts to the Jays since nothing else worthy is going on in this town. So hopefully they can build on what they currently have.

A Ryu,Manoah,Ray,Matz rotation while adding at least 1 name from trades would be ideal going forward.

2 games over .500 is good for 4th in the ALE. Not as bad as NLW though, .600 team is 3rd.

I wonder who scored the 1 millionth.

Based on how long baseball has been around and the number of teams, I'd guess somewhere in the 70s it happened?

It was in 1975, they were just talking about it during the Mets game but I can’t remember the guy’s name. He hit a homerun at the same time as Dave Concepcion and everyone was yelling at him to hurry around the bases so he’d get credit as the millionth

Just checked. I was actually spot on. 1975 it happened. Bob Watson in Houston did it.

Although milestones can have an asterisk in a way beside them since things have changed. When the millionth run was scored, only the AL and NL counted towards that total.

Donaldson won't be the 2 millionth run either once the Negro league stats officially count in the record books.

Baseball and it's predictable outcomes. Down three runs, Tatis gets bailed out by the first basemen not being able to catch a foul pop up that would have ended the game and proceeds to crush the next pitch to tie the game.

It would be pretty funny even all said and done they manage to find out he did it back in 2010.
