Phillies walk in the tying run in the 9th on a ball that probably would have been called strike three if Realmuto didn’t try a ridiculous pitch frame that he didn’t need. it’s probably called strike three and the Phillies win

Re: 6/14 - 6/27 Game Discussion Thread
This Braves offense is so frustrating to watch. They strikeout seemingly every other AB it feels like. I don't understand how there are 8 other teams that strikeout at even higher rates.
Back in 2007 the Marlins had the most strikeouts per game in the majors at 8.21. That would be the 2nd least amount of strikeouts per game in 2021. It's not fun baseball to watch players strikeout as often as they are. 10-15 years ago you had 1-3 teams striking out over 8 times per game. Now in 2021 we have 29 teams striking out over 8 times per game and 2 teams that are striking out more than 10 times per game.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Not that it means anything in the long run, but the Sox have now started the season 5-0 against the New York American League club.Boston Red Sox

Re: 6/14 - 6/27 Game Discussion Thread
Jays reliever comes out of the bullpen with a runner on 1st and 3rd and 0 outs. He gets a strikeout and a double play to get out of things. That's a surprise given how bad Jays bullpen has been. But immediately after that, the ump calls him over to check for any substance. Guess they're checking everyone the second a surprisingly good inning happens?
And an interesting scenario came up which made me wonder what the rule even is.
Let's say a team is thinking of challenging a play. However, a pitching change ends up happening immediately after the play in question. Does the team who wants to challenge get some extra time to think about challenging? As in the pitching change buys them some extra time?Last edited by Majingir; 06-27-2021, 02:22 PM.Comment

Re: 6/14 - 6/27 Game Discussion Thread
What a funny moment during Jays broadcast.
They were showing highlights of Mariners game where Hector Santiago got ejected for having a foreign substance.
As soon as they came back from the replay, Buck rips him apart being like "I have no sympathy for him. Everyone knows the rules and that they're checking guys."
And after he was ejected, it looked like some CSI scene. They go, get some garbage bag, wrap up the glove in question in the bag, and go about their business in reporting this item to the MLB.
For anyone wondering, Santiago didnt pitch last year, struggled the years prior mainly as a starter, but this year coming entirely out of the bullpen has an ERA under 2.50.Last edited by Majingir; 06-27-2021, 02:29 PM.Comment

Ke'Bryan Hayes throws out Yadi from somewhere in the STL suburbs.

Also, the game is in a rain delay with the Buccos up 7-0 - with debuting pitcher Max Cranick having not allowed a base runner through 5.Comment

Beat me too it. Kranick looks solid, Pirates luck that he had a perfect game going and a rain delay.

Re: 6/14 - 6/27 Game Discussion Thread
I'm sure we'll get talking heads saying that it's unfair and these guys need to be able to grip the ball. Like Scherzer said, they need something otherwise they'll be throwing 95 mph at dudes' heads. In reality they are going to have to start throwing pitches that they can actually control. If that means a dip in velocity oh well. Like is tough.Comment
