So...what do you guys think; does Bauer play again this year?

They’ve also played 14 games that were 0-0 heading in to the 5th inning, the most in MLB. They’re a tough team to get a read on but if they ever get their bullpen straightened out they’ll be tough to deal with

Well, Bauer is scheduled to pitch on Sunday. Unless the police investigation or MLB investigation are completed by then I think he pitches, but it is going to be a scene.

I guess daily 10+ run blowouts are a thing now.

            Saturday: Rays beat Angels 13-3
            Monday: Brewers beat Cubs 14-4
            Tuesday: Os beat Astros 13-3
Wednesday: Sox beat Twins 13-3, Braves beat Mets 20-2
Thursday: Red Sox beat Royals 15-1

To be fair, the Royals scored in the 9th. It was 15-1.

The Braves are the first NL team since the 1901 Brooklyn Superbas to win two games by at least 18 runs in a season.

We'll probably get shut out tonight. And I would have said that even if we weren't facing deGrom.

The only thing I've read so far is the Bauer side had concrete evidence she asked to be roughed up and everything was consensual. Based off that limited info, that may not be completely true, I think he does, but in today's society who knows. Even if he ends up not guilty there will be a huge crowd of people that act like he is guilty for the rest of time. We also live in an era where you're guilty until proven innocent now, so I won't be surprised if not.

Bauer plans to deny the account during a July 23 hearing, according to his representatives. On Tuesday, they had issued a statement denying that Bauer had assaulted the woman, calling their encounters "wholly consensual." Bauer's representatives also provided a series of messages that show the woman inviting rough sex and talking about how she wants him to "gimme all the pain" and "choke me out."

                    ...............................................

The woman eventually left with two black eyes and a swollen jaw and cheekbones. Scratches marked her face. A bump formed on the left side of her head. Her upper lip split. A dark bruise marked her lower lip. Bruises showed on her vagina and buttocks -- the latter from punches she said he admitted to throwing when she was passed out: "You have a couple welts. I need to be more careful where I hit you. I also punched your butt while you were unconscious so you may have a bruise there."

On May 17, the day after the alleged assault, the woman went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with "acute head injury" and "assault by manual strangulation." San Diego police spoke with her. The woman said she "attempted to downplay what occurred out of concern for my privacy and what my statements might lead to." She told police she didn't want to file charges.

A day later, police from Pasadena questioned her. She drove to Pasadena on May 21, at the police's behest, to call Bauer and get him to admit to what she said he did while being recorded. She asked him what he did while she was unconscious, the order said, and he admitted to punching her repeatedly in the buttocks. When she said, "I didn't ask to be punched" and "this was not a free for all," Bauer "attempted to change the subject."

I mean, Bauer apparently has text messages of her agreeing to rough sex or what have you. Point is, did it cross from rough sex to something nefarious? If it did, can it be proven in court of law? MLB doesn't have to meet the standard of "proven beyond a reasonable doubt". I think he gets suspended, but the jury is still out on how long.

Jacob deGrom has given up a run after facing 3 batters in July. He's collapsing!

Make that 3 runs given up in the 1st so far for deGrom. What a formal fraud.

Even if he's innocent, having as private details about that (the confirmed? consensual part) coming out to the public must be awkward.

And if he isn't innocent, I wonder if the Dodgers get a way out of his contract or something. Doesn't seem like the kind of person you'd be able to keep if that stuff gets confirmed.

I can’t imagine what it’s like to root for this Braves team. You can usually tell by the 2nd inning if the Mets are losing but it seems like constant late inning frustration for the Braves

Braves score 20 last night, beat deGrom today. That's enough to convince AA to not throw in the towel on the year, unfortunately.
