It mostly sounds like the Red Sox feel like they've finally earned the right to talk smack now that they have one championship to match up with the Yankess twenty-six.
Well first of all, it's the Red Sox' six championships to the Yankee's twenty-six.

Second of all, it's not about A-Rod being a first year player there, and him not earning his stripes, and it has everything to do with his attitude not being like Jeter's, William's, Riviera's and so on. What all the Red Sox are saying is that all of those I just listed are class-acts and professionals, while A-Rod isn't. Besides, the Red Sox have always talked smack, except this time they are ingoring the Yankees altogether, and just focusing on A-Rod.

Hitting the ball out of a pitchers hand doesn't mean your not a class act.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

If you want to try to correct my statement, at least be correct yourself. The Red Sox own five championships, not six (unless you'd like to count the Pilgrims win in '03). The Yankees 26 championships was a referral to how many they'd won since the Red Sox last won a WS.

As far as your second comment......funny, I heard a comment that called out ARod on the fact that he was using words such as "we" and "us" a couple weeks after his arrival to NY without having "earned his pinstripes".

Well maybe he's a class act in some sense, as he gives a lot to charity, but in other aspects, he's not. What he did was illegal, cheap, and well, girly. I almost had a heart attack when that happened, and then I realized that can't happen, that can't be right, and eventually the Umps realized that too. He then went on to argue for 10 minutes, and later on say it was a smart move and he'd do it again, even though it wasn't that smart of move, otherwise Jeter would be on second, in scoring position, instead of first.

Maybe he's just more unprofessional then he is a not-so class act.

You're exactly right... but winning the World Series gives them the right to make that determination?

Well why wouldn't I count the Pilgrims in 1903, it's the same franchise, just a different name. If you want to get into the real nitty gritty details, in 1904, the National league team decided not to show up to play them in the World Series, so that could be seven if you want to count forfeits. I don't though

And you got me there with the second half of your reply. I thought you were still talking about this winters squabbles.

What I find ironic is how they were hating on Nomar last season and wishing and wanting to get A-Rod now they are dumping on him. I loved how A-Rod answered back though classy move on his part. Gave the Sox no ammo to run with.
