Let's see if Jays get both guys this time around.

Just like last year when the Jays were in on everyone.🤷🏻*♂️

Freddie isn't going anywhere that he can't win right now. He didn't like playing for Atlanta in their rebuilding years while he was still young. No way he would even consider going to play anywhere that the roster isn't already built for success right now when he's in the twilight of his career. He's not the kind of guy who cares about being the #1 (he switched his position to 3B a few years ago so that the team could keep Matt Adams' bat in the lineup). He wants to get paid and he wants to win.

Anyways, maybe this is just bitter me talking, but I'm honestly kind of happy that Freeman is gone. My baseball fandom already took a major blow with the announcement of the DH in the NL, and I was already on the fence about how much I could bring myself to care about baseball going forward. Seeing my team choose to deplete their already depleted farm system instead of paying Freddie while there is a window to win now is just the last piece that I needed to give up this sport altogether.

I imagine there was a long pause between the 2nd and 3rd sentence.

Braves' fans are this unhappy about a 12-year homegrown star choosing to leave as a free agent after leading their team to its first title in 25 years? Jesus.

I'm sorry. Are we supposed to sit around the fireplace and sing Kumbaya? Jesus this comment makes no sense.

Winning a championship isn't enough? Freeman doesn't owe Braves fans his allegiance for life.

No one is upset at Freeman; I wish him all the best and hope he gets his. It’s our cheap *** organization that despite having incredibly team friendly deals in place for Acuna/Albies and having made a ton of money last year chose to not keep him. I bear him no ill will and I haven’t seen a single Braves fan that does.

I haven't seen one person be upset against Freeman directly. He can and should do whatever he thinks is best for him.

The problem is the organization not willing to commit to him after being #2 in attendance (asterisk worthy due to covid, but still) and they traded the few farm assets that they had in order to just hopefully replicate his production.

I wish Freeman all the best.

Fair enough, although I'd wait to hear what Freeman signs for elsewhere. If it ends up being the rumoured 6/180 or more, would it make sense for the Braves?

We don't owe him anything either....? Especially if he goes to the team's biggest rival at the moment and maybe even biggest historical rival at this point. But he can and is doing whatever he wants. Consequently, fans will feel the way they do. Especially if that worst case scenario is what comes to fruition. I think anyone is justified in feeling however they want about whatever they want.

Yeah, we're upset. At him, at management, at everything. It is indeed shameful.

It's a miracle that this team got Olson to fill the void but it's heinous it even came to this.

Doesn't even matter. I probably won't watch any of it if the second base runner is back.
