    Here's a random one.

White Sox deal catcher Zack Collins to the Jays for catcher Reese McGuire.

Don’t get the point of the jays trade catcher for a catcher same With yankee Yankees traded the same guy for sake guy

Not sure what the jays are doing with their bench if thot is a weakness it’s that, right now bird and katoh ( rule 5 guy ) projected for it and having Kirk as a DH I think
      Jays need more depth here

Their bench the way I see it would be:

Tapia, Espinal or Biggio, Bird. So 1 more guy here, probably Collins then for the sake of a backup C. Maybe it's part of a bigger plan? Maybe they see Moreno coming up sooner than we think (especially if Kirk gets dealt)?

Collins also has options. Perhaps he's not even going to be on the main roster with the Jays, and neither was McGuire, so instead of losing McGuire for nothing, they got something.

Yeah I think Espinal Biggio platooning

They might like they rule 5 guy to not lose him and keep him on roster
          .

Katoh AND Biggio/Espinal might make it too crowded on the bench (in the sense that they have too many who play the same position). Especially if you have Bird too.

But even if Jays did decide to trade for you know who, you probably could have Espinal at DH, Moreno as the backup C, with Katoh and Bird on the bench.

I actually love the look of the new C, but the primary logo is brutal imo

And #1 overall prospect Bobby Witt Jr. is on Kansas City's Opening Day roster.

Personally, I love all these kids getting a chance.

I do as well. Good to see the new CBA rules working as intended.

Every sport has those teams though. It’s just quite jarring in baseball to see it in terms of a payroll number. Professional sports, in the era of analytics, will no doubt have tanking teams.

Tanking vs just not spending are two different things.

MLB is the one you notice the most because of the different in payroll, which is why MLB needs a salary floor.

You can still spend while tanking, and like teams in other sports do, you can always sign guys to a 1 year deal, and move them at the deadline which allows you to help your rebuild.

But when teams who can be competitive just sell off assets because they "can't afford it", that's when you have a problem. At least in other sports if guys move on, its usually because they just don't want to be there anymore (NBA is the big example)

I think it's partially the CBA and partially the Tigers and Royals think they can be good. Royals spent money last offseason and the Tigers this offseason. Had they been in a different place in their build, maybe they do different things with their prospects.

With Greene being out, the Tigers should sign Conforto to a 1 year deal. There is enough uncertainty in the OF and DH to where he'll get at bats even when Greene comes back from injury. Tigers already gave up a 2nd rounder (I believe) to sign E-rod anyways.

I thought there was a point in the off-season where draft pick compensation was removed for free agents? I'm surprised Conforto still has it attached to him.

Add Julio Rodriguez to the list of top prospects playing on Opening Day.

By order of the Top 100, we've got

                                #1 Bobby Witt, Jr.
                                #3 Julio Rodriguez
                                #4 Spencer Torkelson

#2 Adley Rutschman and #5 Riley Greene are injured, or they would've also made their big league clubs for Opening Day.
