One thing I’ve noticed about the Pitchcom system is that pace of play has definitely increased with Reds pitchers.
Obvious though, you still have to have signs for those times when it’s loud enough in the stadium that you can’t hear. I know the Reds had the volume cranked to the max and the pitchers were having trouble hearing it.

Jays get the series win today, going for the sweep tomorrow!
At least Gausman did better than Berrios. Just 1 bad inning where Rangers got hit after hit after hit after hit and scored 3.
I'm sure we'll see some shaky starts for pitchers, but hopefully by their 2nd start they're more like their normal selves.Comment

Re: 4/7 - 4/17 Game Discussion Thread
Not defensive at all. There seems to be a true disconnect on why the rule was put into place. With some going as far as claiming it makes the sport illegitimate.
It has had notable results in terms of shortening extra innings. I’m too lazy to look again, but I shared on here the stats. It achieves a result and provides continued/immediate action.
I do agree with your last point. It doesn’t remotely move the needle in terms of bringing young eyes back to the sport, or into the ballpark. However, the amount of blowback it has received from the 50+ year old crowd makes any endorsed meaningful change seem lightyears away.
I have no doubt that what you're saying is true. That extra inning games are shorter than they were in the past. It is only logical that it would be the case when you make scoring runs easier. I also have no doubt that they aren't that much shorter than in the past though because they just didn't have much room to improve. When traditionally half of extra innings games are decided in the 10th and close to 90% are decided by the 12th, then there is a limited margin of opportunity there. It's not like you can create negative time. This is why it doesn't make a lot of sense to talk about the ghost runner in the same breath as length of game or ways to attract new fans either (or to condemn the older crowd or presumably traditionalist for that matter). I don't think that you're going to save the person with kids, work in the morning or school by shaving off 1% of game length on the 10% of the games that actually go to "overtime", and you're certainly not attracting new fans with that. If you want to argue that it's more exciting then sure that's valid. I disagree because I don't see how anyone can view that making something easier would also makes it more exciting, but I also recognize that is a personal opinion.Comment

Cardinals are 2-0
Only need to win 160 more straight games to achieve perfection.
We can do this

I didn’t get a chance to watch but it looks like Noah Syndergaard had a good start last night in his first outing that lasted more than an inning since 2019. Looks like he took the same approach Zack Wheeler took when he left the Mets and is pitching to contact now and keeping his pitch count downComment

Hunter Greene’s debut today.
1-2-3 first inning with two strikeouts. Locating his pitches well. Very economical inning.

I love when the replay system fails.

Hunter Green is baffling the Braves. So far, 3ip, 1bb, 6k and only 45 pitches so far. Reds up 5-0.

I’m assuming you are talking about the Senzel play…because replay showed he was safe.

This Rangers Blue Jay's series has been wild. Texas was just down 6-1 about 20 min ago. It's now 6-6 in a flash. Now 7-6 Rangers.
