A’s can’t get out of Oakland quick enough. Mets broadcasters are in an alternate location because a possum lives in the walls of the visitor booth and it smelled so bad like possum **** that they couldn’t do the broadcast in there

It’s the 5th inning and the Mets have already walked twelve times and another batter got hit. This is going to be a long nightComment

As averaging 11,500 fans through their first 7 home games (number will be a bit inflated due to home opener carrying more weight for now, the average is 8800 when you take out the opener)
For comparison, the Expos averaged about 10,300 during their final few seasons (7900 during their worst year). In their worst attendance season, they never had under 4,000 fans until SEPTEMBER. As have done it twice already. Crazy enough, Expos still had 45,000 fans show up for their home opener that season.
If you don't move the As after all this....
Funny enough, 25 runs, 14 hits, 21 walks in this game only took 3.5 hours. And 20% of the walks/hits happened in the 9th, so the games pace leading up to the 9th was actually decent.Last edited by Majingir; 04-15-2023, 07:37 AM.Comment

Maybe it sped up in the 7th and 8th inning, but I went to bed after the 6th and there was nothing decent about the pace they were playing. At one point Senga was in the bullpen warming up between innings because the Mets were batting for so longComment

Think he was just trying to get him out of his rhythm. He's been mowing them down.

Isn't that the rule though (what Baldelli was upset with)?
So IF German had a substance on his hand, doesn't matter what it was, if the umps even had to say he needed to wash his hands, isn't that admitting that he did have something on it, which goes against the rule because the rule doesn't say a warning is needed, it's an ejection. No player is permitted to intentionally damage, deface or discolor the baseball by rubbing it with any type of foreign item or substance, including dirt or saliva. Failure to follow this rule will result in an ejection and an automatic 10-game suspension.Comment

What a weird sequence. The A’s runner would have been picked off but Alonso botched catching the ball, next pitch he steals second, then the batter gets a clock violation for strike two, then he strikes out but the third strike is dropped and it’s a bad throw to first and Alonso had to dive to the bag after he caught the ball and barely got the runner out.Comment

Wow…I see the Phillies put up a 9 spot in the first against Cincy. I was wondering which poor starting pitcher didn’t make it out of the first, but lo and behold Luis Cessa is still in there having given up 10 runs on 11 hits in his 3rd inning of work.
