Well in Lindros's case, his Dad was the pain in the butt for clubs. At least Weaver's dad hasn't stepped into the situation.

And of course the team he didn't want to play for ended up winning 2 cups while Lindros doesn't even have a ring.

In the grand scheme of things, bonuses are peanuts. It's not like they're asking for a 30 mil bonus or anything like that.

The players have every right to ask whatever they want. The market will decide how much they are worth.

For example I could go to my employer and demand a raise to $90,000 a year, but if he doesn't want to pay me that amount as well as all other employers, then I won't get it.

Yeah, but if you're looking for a raise your employer has some prior work to judge you on, baseball teams only have college numbers or high school numbers to look at. And even the scrubs of MLB hit .400 in high school. The market plays a role but here it isn't so much because Boras demands contracts that have no precedence, no one is getting what he is looking for. Bonuses are not peanuts, as you put it, especially if you're the Tampa Bay Devil Rays where your payroll is less than what Arod makes a year. No on should be given millions of dollars to doddle in the minors for 3-4 years, its just not smart for teams to do that. Especially when today's stars often are not top picks.

Like I said before it doesn't matter what Boras asks for his clients. The market will decide what he's worth. It's obvious the Angel's don't feel like Weaver is worth a 4 mil signing bonus so he's not getting it. I don't understand why Boras is such a target with the fans. It's obvious MLB GM's have no problems dealing with him because his clients are playing with various teams within the league.

Kind of pulls the old J.D. Drew.

But this kid does have a lot of hype.

Speaking of Drew, anyone got word on his brother Stephen with the D-Backs, I'm not sure if he's signed yet.
