true
lemme get the guy who saves an errandt throw every few games over the other guy who knocks in 100 RBI's and 30 HRs....

For what it's worth by the way, by all accounts, Teixeira is actually a good fielding first base man, as he has good range (he came up as a third basemen), and can make the tough picks. Add that to the 38 home runs he hit last year, and well, you have one hell of a good first basemen. Not to mention he's 24.Comment

Re: Best First Basemen of Each Division
Originally posted by DuffysCliffI think you have it mixed up. Hitting makes you a good first basemen, if your a good enough hitter to make it as a first basemen (which is an offensive position, as opposed to shortstop or second) then the good fielding is just a bonus, and well, eye candy.

Nomar's homer off Pedro. Those four words just shouldn't go together. Not even on a day like 6/6/6. ~Bill SimmonsComment

Re: Best First Basemen of Each Division
Originally posted by DuffysCliffA-Rod also played a more valuable position at SS. Teixeira may get a big contract, but it's going to be nowhere near the size of A-Rods. Maybe it will be more in the range of Pujols' deal though.Favorite Teams:
