Carlos Mendoza is lucky the magic 8-ball said "Joe Maddon" and not "Grady Little".

Braves have to rely on Sale now…but every reliever for Braves should hang their head. Just horrific performance by Jimenez, Iglesias, Johnson.

If the Braves manage to choke this entire day away and lose game 2, can it finally be the end of the Snitker era? This was a typical choke of one of his teams. Haven't been a fan of his day 1 and his only saving grace is the incredibly lucky WS run that was in spite of him.

I disagree with this; I have no issue with anything he did in Game 1...this was the bullpen throwing up all over itself.

Going to Johnson was an awful decision before he even threw a pitch. He'd been bad lately and they were teeing off on RHP pitchers, specifically breaking balls by RHP. Johnson was the worst pitcher he could have put in in that situation.

Also not sure I agree with taking Iglesias out at that point once they already had the lead. Mets didn't take Diaz out and it paid off. This one is more of a hindsight type discussion, but putting in Johnson to save the game was a bad decision out of the gate.

At this point, we've seen this team routinely collapse under Snitker's management in situations like this. It's no longer just a coincidence. It's a trait of Snitker's teams.

Yep, this was such a Braves way to lose it.

If they can't win game 2 against a spring training like roster, he definitely should be "retired". I've never liked him either and saw him as average manager and terrible in game.

                  I'll agree with both viewpoints.

No issue with how he handled the first game today. I'm still ready for him to "retire" though.

Sale has been scratched with back spasms. Holmes now starting the do-or-die second game for the Braves.

If that doesn’t encapsulate the Braves 2024 season I don’t know what does. This could end up being a blessing in disguise (if he isn’t hurt for real) if we win and then have him for Game 1 of the wild card.

Don't buy he is actually hurt. Feels like they are hoping to limp across the finish line in game 2 and use Sale in the WC series.

If he actually is hurt, it's the most fitting thing to happen.

The focus of the entire organization is pitching and here we are in a win-or-go-home game starting ... Grant Holmes. Not sure whether to laugh or cry.

The Mets are swinging like I do in extra innings in MLBTS when I just want to get the game over.

Snitker going to the pen, hopefully he wasn't 2 batters too late. Need correct decisions the rest of the way.
