Jays are in on Soto, Kim, Fried.

Most likely result: Signing Jesse Chavez, Matthew Boyd and/or Gio Urshela

Mets have made 7 yr, $160 MM offer to Willy Adames.... With the caveat he moves to 3B.

Alex Bregman willing to move to 2B.

100% that Roki Sasaki is a Dodger isnt it? They have the most International FA $ to offer him.

            ****ing rich just get richer.

That's the 2024 allotment. Roki will be part of the 2025 class (starts 15 January), so the Dodgers have the least amount of money as it currently stands. Here's a breakdown of the 2025 pool money: https://thereportonsports.com/mlb-an...for-each-team/. I assume some teams with a chance to sign Roki may back out of verbal commitments to Latin players to ensure max money is available.

I don't know much about how the international signing money works, but if that's for the signing bonus couldn't teams just offer him a fully guaranteed major league contract with no bonus money?

Sasaki cannot be offered a ML contract because he is not classified as a foreign professional (1), which would make him exempt from the international bonus pool. Since he just turned 23 years old, Sasaki falls under the same rules as every other international amateur. This is one of the reasons most people, including myself, thought there was no way he'd be posted.

                  (1) Foreign professionals are defined as players who are at least 25 years of age and have played as a professional in a foreign league recognized by Major League Baseball for a minimum of six seasons.

Soto meeting with Jays, Red Sox, Mets, Yankees in that order.

The way I see it, Jays will set the bar, Red Sox will be the other number to average out what he could get elsewhere, then he decides between the NY teams on where he actually wants to go.

I do hope it goes quick just like you laid out. Toronto will have the highest offer. I can see both NY teams matching with the Jays going even higher.

Jays absolutely are just gonna be used as leverage like with Ohtani.

As a Jays fan I don't have a problem with them pushing other teams to make higher bids. If the Yankees ending up breaking the bank to sign Soto which (in theory) leaves them fewer bucks and unable to sign other players to fill their holes I'm all for that.

It's odd to me they're offering Soto big money before they sign Vlad to a long-term deal.

Unless they're just waiting to see if they sign Soto so they know how to structure Vladdys contract (assuming FO is working on a deal with Vladdy).

Probably doesn't make as much sense signing Vladdy then later on if they get Soto they suddenly might have an issue where certain seasons their payroll might be insane when they could do something like front load one of those guys to balance things out more in the long run.
