I personally believe that he is returning to the Yankees
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

If Soto doesn't sign with the Mets or Yankees, I'm going to guess it has a ton of player opt outs after the third year. That seems to be the way Boras operates these days and I think he probably wishes that was part of Bryce Harper's deal with the Phillies given Boras suggestions that the Phillies should extend Harper's deal even though it has about seven years remaining.

          Wow.

Luis Severino to Athletics, 3 years $67 million.

They were going to get in trouble by everyone around the league due to licensing agreements for payments to low market teams.

The guess is they'll get payroll to $100 million, and they wanted pitching. So works for multiple reasons to bring in Severino.

Plus this is the LARGEST deal in Athletics history, lol. Beating out Eric Chavez.

The optimist in me believes Juan Soto will be playing for Boston. I've seen tons of (biased, Massachusetts-based) reports that the meetings have gone great, that he likes the idea of playing at Fenway. That the Sox are finally going to be the big spenders they should've been the past 5 years. That he's had meetings with Devers, Big Papi, and Pedro Martinez (their 3 biggest Dominicans).

One report said that Steve Cohen will match any price to get him on the Mets, but the Yankees are concerned that Boston is slowly becoming THE favorite to get him.

I'm an idiot, and I believe he's coming to Boston.

Just a pick a damn team Soto. Really hope it's the Yankees. But it's holding up things on our end.

I'm fully expecting a 7pm Friday night type of announcement once the main weekday media people are off for the weekend.

You might be right, I just don’t believe much of what I hear from the media. Who knows, maybe the A’s sign him…..after the Severino signing I don’t know what to think. I’m waiting for the Cardinals to pull the trigger on something.

I opened up twitter and saw notifications from Passan and a bunch of Mets reporters I follow and thought it was the Soto news...only to find out it was because of the Severino signing

What does Soto do so well that he’s worth $700 M?

Yes he’s a good hitter but isnt he a bad baserunner and not a good fielder?

I think his age has people ready to throw crazy amounts of money around plus it's a pretty underwhelming free agent class. It's crazy to think just six years ago Harper was a free agent and his market was pretty dry compared to Soto

Elite stick, and always gets on base.
