The Dodgers ownership wants it. They won the bidding war for Ohtani and Yamamoto. Now they've added Snell among others. And you gotta give it to them. They are absolutely loaded and not close to done.
Just to put this into perspective. The Dodgers do spend a lot, but they also have resources to spend a lot. Only the Yankees pull in more revenue than them, and while the Dodgers do spend a lot of that revenue on payroll the reality is that there are several teams who are not far behind them (on a percentage basis). I don't remember the exact numbers, but there are something like 20 in the MLB who couldn't match the Dodgers spending even if those teams allocated 100% of their revenue on payroll.

Baseball has always had a level of inequity in its finances, but it's never been as blatant as it has been in recent years.

Jays supposedly the top bidder so far.

          Who wants to track planes!?

I'm still saying he winds up with the Mets though.

My truthful thoughts on where he is going.

            Yankees - 14 years $630 million

            Here's where everyone else lands.

            Mets - 14 years $680 million
            Red Sox - 12 years $550 million
            Blue Jays - 12 years $550 million
            Dodgers - 12 years $515 million

Unsure who else is involved, have heard Phillies and Giants, but I doubt it.

I hope this finishes soon! I really want him on the Red Sox, but I just don't believe we will get him.

Not too excited about the Montas signing but hopefully it turns out like the Manaea and Severino signings last year

                Kevin Pillar to unretire.

He announced his plans to retire at the end of 2024. He got his 10 years of service time in July.

He's been on 8 teams since being traded from the Jays in 2019. The NL Central is the only division he's never been part of.

I think at most he'll get a ST invite and maybe wind up as some 5th OF mainly for late inning defensive replacements, beyond that he hasn't really been the same since 2021

Just sitting here, waiting for the Cardinals to show a pulse this offseason.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Signed Ryan Vilade to MiLB deal, lol

                          And I know the feeling.

He's on his 7th team now.

For anyone wondering, Tommy Pham, Domimic Leone, Chase Anderson, Jacob Barnes and Kevin Pillar all have a shot of being on their 10th different team next season.

I read this and was thinking he is way too old to be attempting a comeback...then I just realized I was thinking of Kevin Millar

Funny enough, Kevin Millar and Kevin Pillar both played for Boston and Toronto.
