Im going to miss Steve a lot but Im really very happy Skip is gone. In any case, I hope Steve is able to do national games so I can still watch him...it would be great if he could replace McCarver or any knucklehead ESPN currently has. My alarm is going to go off soon.

Wouldn't be surprised if Stone did West Coast games for one of the networks so he could stay close to his Arizona home. I know he has an apartment in Chicago for the seasonComment

Re: Steve Stone on ESPN?
Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks Stone is an incredible baseball mind. I often thought as someone else said earlier that he would predict that something would happen and then it did.
I hope to hear him more in some capacity on ESPN. Analysts like him are rare, especially ones that played the game.
On a side note, any of you Chicago guys know if he's on in the afternoons with Telander, Hood and Bafone? I listen to the Score driving home from work and I haven't heard him yet."The man who is the spearhead of the Dodger offense throughout the year, who saved them in the League Championship, will not see any action tonight, for sure."
-- Vin Scully, about injured Dodger slugger Kirk Gibson during the game 1 of the '88 Series. One inning later, well, you know the rest......Comment

Re: Steve Stone on ESPN?
I've always loved Steve Stone as a color man, except for a patch of about three years awhile ago where he just seemed legitimately stoned or out of it all the time.
On a similar note, anyone know who the new WGN crew is going to be? As long as Joe Carter's not on the bill I think I'll be ok.
