Boo Cubs.
Go ahead and flame me, I don't care. I'm so sick of the Cubs already and its only the 5th day of the season. They suck so incredibly bad that I really don't think I'll be watching another game all season. The team is much worse than last year... we lost Clement and Alou. We lost Sosa but Burnitz will fill in his strikeout ratio for sure this year with less power. Prior is on the DL to start the year, as we always have someone hurt, but hey at least that can be our excuse to take us over the 100 year drout that is sure to happen. I'll bet anyone on this board any amount of money (that I have) that Wood will be on the disabled list sometime during the season. The Cubs have lost 3 straight (2 to the Diamondbacks and one to the Brewers), it truly is laughable. They are so pathetic it makes me sick to be a Cubs fan, year after year and I just can't take it anymore, it just a continuation of last season. I honestly can't wait until we actually play good teams like the Astros, Marlins and especially the Cardinals (who I envy in all honesty) because they will dismantle us like we're a AA team. Rest assured the Astros and the Cardinals will BOTH sweep the Cubs at some point in the season during a series. The Cubs will finish under 500 and be 4th place in the central behind St. Louis, Houston and then Cincinnati. I'm all but ready to give up on these not-so lovable losers.Tags: None -
Re: Boo Cubs.
Oh I almost forgot to mention the 10,000 walks thrown in todays game, which is SO typical. My favorite part was when Jon "I can't throw a strike" Leicester did his very best Farnsworth impression, it was a spot on match. And here I was, thinking about how bad I'd miss the 'Farns, but Leicester will probably be with the Cubs for a good 5 or 6 years like Farnsworth was, giving up a billion walks per year, oh what joy to be a Cub fan. Leicester's highlight had to have been when he threw 10 consecutive balls...LOL. I was mad but now it funny. Its funny that he's in the big leagues and the batter is OBVIOUSLY just standing there not swinging no matter what and he STILL can't throw a strike. What's even funnier is that the only man more overrated than Sammy Sosa, Dusty Baker, stood there and let him walk batter after batter. Baker, you suck. -

shiitty management....but I don't think you guys are as far away as you think. That bullpen def needs help, did they think Scott Williamson would be enough?
Maybe you guys will be able to work out a deal, I don't know how your farm system is. I don't think it's that bad, but again I'm not too sure. Biggest problem is staying healthy, that pitching staff (if ever fully healthy) can carry you guys until you make a deal.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. Re: Boo Cubs.
Dusty Baker is an idiot
I thought that was established in San Fran, dunno why he is held in such high regard“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. Re: Boo Cubs.
I blame blowjob Hawkins and ******* Dusty for this loss. I wasn't excited to start the season, but my confidence in this team is decreasing with each loss to these below average teams. How many blown saves does it take Dusty Baker to realize that Hawkins is the biggest blowjob to pitch in the 9th inning?Comment

Re: Boo Cubs.
Hawkins is NOT a closer....he is a elite set up man but as a closer he loses what made him a great setup man. That is management's fault for putting him in a positon where he isn't comfortable...plus if Hollandsworth fielded that ball cleanly...Cubs more likely than not win that game on the next hitter.
Burntiz is a pretty good player and will have a good year playing at Wrigley...he will K a lot....but he will also get some key RBI's and does shorten his swing, something Sammy refused to do...but will still swing and miss because of his helicopter cut.
I still think Cubs need to go after Urbina from Detroit to be the closer...would allow LaTroy to move back to the spot where he is best...8th inning setup man...also when the Cubs get Prior back...it will allow the Cubs to put Dempster in the bullpen where he will be more of an asset and allow the Cubs to send down either Leicester or Wellemeyer (both I do believe will have some trade value if the Cubs want to shore up that closer spot)
Also if Bownlie, Pinto and Guzman get off to good starts in AAA....they could come up and give more depth to the bullpen or become trade bait to get a elite closer if the Cubs are in the race come July (which seeing how the Cards and Astros have been playing, it's a good chance)Comment

Re: Boo Cubs.
We finally have back-to-back winning seasons, and you guys are giving up on the season after a 1-3 start? Please, perhaps some of you missed the Braves last year. Cubs fans like you guys piss me off... we've been at the bottom of the NL Central for a long time, we've finally established ourselves as consistent contenders, and now the expectations are World Series or "you guys suck." Go find another team because if you guys were truly Cubs fans, you wouldn't be so upset about a 1-3 start.Listen to some of my covers:
