Memphis cause of the attendance figures and Charlotte becaue the area is booming both in terms of population and in terms of per capita income. I definetly think Charlotte has a lot of long-term potential; in my opinion it is the best one left (and was the only real contender with DC for the Expos)"Darth Vader doesn't cry, Peter."

Yeah, the official contenders were D.C., Northern Va, Charlotte, Portland, San Juan, and Norfolk (VA). Charlotte would have been the best option after D.C. IMO and that's where Selig kept trying to convince people the should move them to"Darth Vader doesn't cry, Peter."

I can't believe I'm relocating there for my wife! However, I will be at some Knights games. 8 bucks to sit behind the dugout, cheap concessions too.
I agree. NC wants a team, but when it comes down to it they just don't want to put their feet all the way in. Come to Hickory and see the Crawdads. SAL Champs 2 times in the last 4 yrs. It's single A, but still a good time.President of the Devils Den

Re: What are some cities that could support an MLB team?
I don't understand why MLB would want another team in the southeast when the teams they already do have don't do well attendance wise. TB and Florida are regularly among the worst in attendance and Atlanta is middle of the pack at best.Comment

Montreal...move the Drays from Tampa cause it just isn't working there at all.If we had a new stadium here,we wouldn't have moved and the attendence would've been at a respectable number.People want to blame the fans, but we had horrible owners like Loria who promised us a new Ballpark but it never cameto fruition.I don't think it'll happen now,but maybe down the line in about 10 years we can get a team again.Comment

From what I understand the Expos were very popular up until they got robbed in the '94 strike. A young team, with some exciting players, like the D-Rays could be just what Montreal needs. It would also be a natural rivalry with Toronto and Boston, both of which are huge Hockey rivalries as well.
I'm in favor of anything that involves moving teams out of the Southeast. The attendance for Florida and Tampa is consistently pathetic, and don't even get me started about Atlanta.Comment
