Aren't the Redskins technically in Virginia? or is that Maryland? Ah who cares. -

Unfortunately I don't think it will happen as long as Selig is still commish. He spent so much time trying to get the Expos out of there he isn't going to put another right back in.Comment

Re: What are some cities that could support an MLB team?
Yahoo baseball writers gave their thoughts about this topic a few weeks ago. Las Vegas came up a lot. One writer mentioned Vancouver.
Of course the key is getting a park in place. A team might have to play in BC Place for a season or two before the park is ready.
We currently have Single A here and we use to have AAA before the team moved to Sac Town.
I would love to see a MLB team here. The dollar is on the upswing and the local economy is doing really well. I'm just not sure if there's enough potential/baseball fans here to support it though.Comment

The used to play at USAir Arena which was in Maryland.

Re: What are some cities that could support an MLB team?
It might work, You could get a nice influx of fans from the prairies and the Pacific NorthWest. I think Canada has enough baseball fans in the country to support two teams and I would love to see a team in the west. It would really spark a nice rivalry between Toronto and Vancouver. As you know it's a popular pastime to bash anything Toronto related in the rest of the country.Comment

But I see what you're saying and quite frankly it won't happen in our lifetimes. BTW they could always do re-alignment.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

If Vancouver got a team I imagine they would just join the AL West since there's only 4 teams right now. The AL East would just go to 4 teams (assuming it was the D-Rays that moved).
I don't think the Mariners would be too happy if Vancouver got a team since they would probably lose some fans.Comment

I was shocked as hell when I went to Memphis and saw there downtown AAA baseball stadium. It is actaully better than a couple major league stadiums I've been to, so that area wouldn't be a bad candidate.Comment

Originally posted by glucklichMaybe but if Denver and Vegas have teams it would make less sense for SLC to have one. The more obvious choice seems to be Vegas but SLC is not bad. I thought about it but I wasnt sure about its population.Comment
