I'm actually pretty interested in knowing what the players were thinking, but that doesn't change the fact that they need to get Hazel Mae or go back to Eric Frede to replace this loser.

"Mike, how is the mindset of the bullpen changing with all these close games lately?"

Timlin looks at her as if she's a ******** down syndrome 3rd grader and proceeds to answer her question politely,

"The mindset is to get hitters out. That doesn't change with anything."

Gotta love those hard hitting questions. Nobody gives a damn "what was going through a ballplayers mind". Most of the time, it's nothing worth noting. I'm more interested in hearing about strategy about the game, not about what the ballplayer was thinking when 9 times out of 10, the real answer is that his balls feel itchy.

I've never been able to catch any of her post-game interviews seeing as though I watch through MLB.TV, but I can safely say I find her annoying as well. Not too mention she's not the easiest thing on the eyes.

I can't comment on Eric Frede's post game work either, but I did enjoy him alot last year. When I was able to catch his interviews, he didn't seem like a complete tard. Plus he had the classic "New wife smell" interview.

Tina doesn't bother me. She seems nice and is pleasent. I've never encountered a sideline reporter who asked anything particularly interesting. Plus, I don't usually watch much of the postgame show anyways.

Same here. I usually just tune her out anyways. I like the postgame show when they have Eck on but when Jim Rice is on... I can't understand a word.

Try Kim Jones on the YES network. Yeah shes nice to look at...but thats it.

"Kevin (Brown), what was going through your mind as you were getting booed while walking off the mound?"

            *stare of death*

            or

"A-Rod, you had 3 HRs and 10 RBIs tonight, that must feel pretty good."
"Yeah, it felt good to know I contributed to the team today."
"I bet it felt even better knowing that it helped you guys win."
"Yeah well, we go out here every day and try to win s it felt good"

There was a lot of "felt good" questions and just to know how obvious the answers to her questions were... Joe Torre would start off every answer with "Well theres no question that...."

Now it might be a personal vendetta against Rice because he was a jerk at an autograph session, or it might be the fact that thenight before the autograph i called in on Extra Innings, was told I'd be next, and never put on and he was on the show, but I just think the guy SUCKS on Extra Innings. Eckersly is incredible, and TC is as solid as it gets, I'd love to see Eck color commentate.

Today, as I am making fun of Rice and his complete lack of chemistry with TC, he comes up with a nice "Well yea see Ortiz was great, but he was good also."

Jon Kruk with some great analysis on baseball tonight "I was sitting watching this game (Red Sox vs. Mariners today) and thought 'Why is Youkilis batting leadoff for them? He's not fast'"

Not only is Rice terrible, but you can't even understand most of what he says. Who was the other guy they had on last year? Tewksbury? He was decent. DiSarcina is ok and Eck is the freakin man. I don't think Eck does any of the weekend games though.

He must be hanging out with Morgan and McCarver too much. Youkilis said it best the other night. "I only lead off once." Obviously, the whole point of batting him there is having guys on base when Ortiz jacks homeruns. You also want to have your best hitters get as many at bats as possible. I'd rather Youk get 4-5 at bats than Adam Stern or whoever else.

Of course we all know these things.

I do enjoy Eck, he is excellent. He managed to make me smile with his comments on Aaron Boone following Game 7 of the '03 ALCS. He basically just said Boone sucks and he could strike him out on three pitches right now. He's probably right too. He should do color, kick Trup out of the booth for the radio broadcasts and put Eck in (I like Remy too much to kick him out). Or hey, go with a three man team of Orsillo, Remy, and Eck. Imagine the stuff they'd start to talk about, it would almost be like a comedy routine.

Rice isn't too good. He has gotten better but he's no pro. When the Sox were in Baltimore earlier this year and they were talking to Remy about how great Tejada was Rice came out of no where and basically said "Nomar was the greatest ever." Jerry was dumb-founded and just ignored him.

What do you think the Red Sox will do with their up and coming prospects?? They have 4 in Baseball America's Top 100

                          22. Jon Lester lhp ETA 2007
                          37. Jonathan Papelbon rhp
                          54. Craig Hansen rhp ETA 2006
                          77. Dustin Pedroia 2b/ss ETA 2006

What do you guys think the Sox end up doing with these guys. Hansen is suppose to be MLB level ready their just giving him time to get a new pitch. I don't know what they'll do with Lester or Pedroia though??

I'm not sure when we'll see Lester. Maybe in september for a cup of coffee?

I don't know about Loretta's contract situation or I'd venture to guess that if he is a FA, Pedroia will be our starting second basemen.

Hansen I would imagine will be up here by the middle of the season, and a key component to our bullpen in the final two months of the year.

Pap's is already here and his role could change depending on another injury to a starter and Foulke looking better.

Lester will be a full-fledged starter for us in two years, possibly next.

Hansen will be a lights-out closer for somebody, hopefully us. But with Papelbon doing his thing who knows.

I haven't seen Pedroia yet too much but hopefully after two years of Loretta we'll fianlly have a home-grown second-baseman who hasn't been a journeyman.

High comedy. This kind of sums up why I have such a difficult time truly enjoying something which I love, which is the game of baseball.

As fans, we are forced to put up with generally incompetent coverage of the game, which to me, tends to ruin things because the wrapping around the game is filled with unimportant dogcrap that I really don't seem to care about. From Tina Cervasio to John Kruk, these doofuses are more concerned with their makeup than knowing about what they are being PAID to speak about.

I would honestly play large quantities of money to have the ability to watch the game with 0 announcers and some kind of interactive (and in-depth) live statistics feed on my TV that could explain to me every nuance about the situation. If I could have the ability to change camera angles at will, this would be....awesome. This may happen in like....50 years.
