Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006

Wow! Adam Stern saves the day! If there's a save situation for the Sox tomorrow Foulke will get his first shot of the season as I doubt Papelbon will be able to go tomorrow after throwing so many pitches tonight.

Good bounce back effort from Clement. And Manny is starting to show himself, finally.

I found a little trick with this for this year. It seems like if you click on the MLB.tv logo on the right side during the game you can switch feeds. It only works sometimes for me so I'm not sure the rhyme or reason. I'm not sure what happened tonight, just glad I got Baseball Tonight on on time.

Daammmn. Anyone see Hanley's numbers today:

        3-6, 3 R, 2 HR, 4 RBI.

He's been terrific for the Marlins so far. I keep looking to see his production start to decline but so far so good.

Yep. Kinda thought about what he'd be doing in our lineup had the trade not been made.

I've been clicking that little MLB.TV logo and getting the same feed each time.

It's the goldish TV box with the MLB.TV by it that you're talking about, right?

Except Lowell would be out too. I'm surprised to see him doing so well, but I'm still happy with Beckett.

                  D'oh lol

                  Throw Snow in then

I'm still happy with the deal too. I just wish we could hold on to some our blue chippers. I hope we don't go in to a bidding way for Dontrelle if he's put on the block and throw Lester away. Not necessarily meaning Willis is a waste, I'd just like to keep JL.

I don't think Dontrelle will be put on the block, unless they still don't have a resolution to their stadium problem, but you'd have to trade Lester for him if you had the chance. It's ok though, the way Florida is going, they'll just trade him back when he's 24-25.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's probably just random but before when I got the opposing team's feed I would click on it and it would change. I thought it was a pretty cool feature but now I just think it's luck.

Not to nitpick but how did JD beat out Stern for the web gem of the night?

The Yankees got their *** kicked and Stern saved the game with that catch.

Because he's Damon and Stern is Stern. Oh well. I'll take the W over Web Gems

Im pretty happy about our trade with the Marlins so far. Beckett is 26 I think so he is still pretty young. I'd say in 5 years you'll be able to tell wether or not this was a good trade or not, by then Hanley Ramirez and Anibel(sp?) Sanchez will probably be developed into good players but hopefully Beckett is with the Sox the rest of his carrear.

And I don't think the Marlins will be trading Dontrelle or Cabrera anytime soon, that team has so much potential all they need is some experience and they'll be good again. So I wouldn't expect to see either of them get traded unless a team offers everything they have

How long do you guys think Schilling will be around? Does he retire after this year?

I believe Schilling has one year left on his contract after this year (an option that kicked in because the Sox won the World Series) so I would expect him to finish out his contract, barring injury or ineffectiveness later this year. Considering Johnson, Wells, and Clemens all are still effective starters now well after 40, Schilling can probably go another year beyond this one.
