Youkilis has just been awesome. I like Crisp, but Youk is making it pretty tough to take him out of the leadoff spot.

Crisp can do more for the Sox hitting lead-off than Youk can. And Youk can do more for the Sox hitting lower in the order. They need a bat towards the bottom of the order that is a threat to drive in some runs.

I know two of those came in 04 after Arroyo hit I think Huff and Tino Matrinez the half inning before. Kazmir hit two batters the next inning and gained a lot of respect from his teammates for that. So Schilling should know that if Arroyo was going to hit guys, the Sox batters were going to face something the next inning. I'd just throw that out there. I've had enough arguments with Red Sox fans over this on another board that I don't feel like going through it again so after this one post I'll be done discussing it. Kazmir has better control now and has pitched well against the Sox so tommorow's game should be closer than this one was.

Does Willy Mo know that he can get more then three pitches for every at bat if he waits for pitches and doesn't swing at everything?

          Homerun for Mohr!!

My thoughts exactly. Honestly, I don't know where I'd hit Coco if Youk stayed in that spot, but I couldn't move Youk at the moment if our CFer was back from injury.

...sidenote - someone tell those guys that "Josh Bard" is enscribed on the bat, that should end the fight.

Where is everyone tonight? Usually we have an active thread during games but not tonight I guess.

2-1 Tampa in the bottom of the 6th

Kazmir just came out of the game with some sort of injury. Looked like he wanted to stay in but the D-Rays manager didn't want to risk him I guess

Rays broadcast said Maddon is taking him out as a precaution to prevent further injury. This would have been avoided if the 1st base umpire wasn't blind and missed the 3rd strike call on Manny, who clearly did not check his swing.

I didn't see Wily's at bats tonight, but he hasn't been swinging at everything lately and has actually shone very good plate discipline. He can't be on every night and in his defense he was facing a tough lefty tonight who he likely had never faced (or had only a few at-bats against).

5-1 Tampa Bottom of the 9th bases loaded 1 out for Sox!! A comeback win from this far behind would be awesome!

He threw 102 pitches tonight and is only 22. Either way, he should be pulled.

Bases loaded for Nixon in the ninth. It sure would have been nice if Tavarez could have done well in the 9th.

5-1 Gameover, 2 out of 3 for the series isn't bad. Hopefully Beckett can join Schilling tommorow and be 4-0. Who's pitiching for the Jay's tommorow Halladay?

Too little... Too Late... It be interesting if we could land Kazmir in the near future as he has all that potential surely he isn't going to be a Devil Ray his whole career.
18-1 hell of a season regardless

The Devil Rays were the beneficiary of one of the most lop-sided trades in recent memory to get Kazmir. They would be stupid to trade him away and they certainly would never trade him away in the division. Kazmir should be with them for a long long time.
