Not sure where you were going with this rather brief posting, but if you're referring to the game tonight, it's Howie Rose and Ron Darling. Gary Cohen will be out for about 10 days or so. He had appendix surgery.....

Alay Soler had a nice start tonight... 7 innings, 1 ER... Mets win 4-1 & also were able to rest the big guns in the bullpen..

It's time for a gut-check guys- this is the start of the most difficult stretch of the season for us.

3 at Dodgers
4 at Arizona
3 at Philly
3 vs Baltimore
4 vs Cincinnati

3 at Toronto
3 at Boston
3 at Yankees

Phew, those last 9 are gonna be brutal. These are the stretches where champions step up. It's time to put up and shut up. A strong June can put us in the driver's seat, particularly if we handle the Phillies again.

According to the Daily News, the Mets have indeed dealt 2B Kaz Matsui to the Rockies in exchange for utility player Eli Marrero. The deal is pending approval from the commissioner's office because of the salaries involved. Marrero is batting .217 with four homeruns and 10 RBI in 60 at-bats with the Rockies...



Newsday has done an outstanding job of breaking down the deal. While Ed Coleman on WFAN reported to the contrary, Newsday reports that the Mets will pay the remainder of Matsui's contract by paying the $477,000 remaining on Marrero's deal and sending the Rockies about $4.6 million. This would equal the estimated $5.1 million remaining on Matsui's contract...


Newsday also reports that the Rockies would like Matsui to waive some clauses in his contract, which may enable the team to send him the minors for a couple of weeks...



According to Mets.com, the Rockies immediately optioned Matsui to their AAA club in Colorado Springs.

Man we are just owning the Diamondbacks right now- this is just unfair.
