Because our lineup sucks. We don't have players that can play small ball. Everyone swings for the fences and have no patience at the plate.

Nice time for Jellie Roll and Howard to open their mouths and insert feet with the Best Damn Sports Show interview.

Re: Home of the Philadelphia Phillies

It takes a lot to offend me, especially coming from an idiot athlete who is paid to hit a baseball, but that did it. Wow. I seriously can't even believe that he would call us out like that. Front-runners who chanted MVP at him all of last season and have filled CBP with 90% capacity crowds since it opened while we've won exactly nothing lately and one world championship in 125 seasons, who trek down to Spring Training in droves every year, who follow the team faithfully despite them being the losingest franchise IN HISTORY....seriously? Front-runners? We're anything BUT front-runners. What a punk. And I like how he airs this in the middle of a big road trip. Well guess what, you're still going to get booed when you finally come home, you ignorant little prick.

I watched all of last night's game, but I doubt I'll watch much or any of tonight's game. The team has no identity and they're just an emotional flatline when they're not hitting home runs. No spark, no charge, no identity. I'm not sure how that happened, but it did. And after last year, I think everyone knows what the deal is with the playoff landscape this season. It's tough to get excited about this season when you look at the moves the Cubs, Brewers and Dodgers made and the way they're playing, and when you think about how we got swept out of the playoffs last season. Yeah we might win our pitiful division, but we're going to get murdered by one of the actual good teams in the NL when the playoffs roll around. And that's just not worth getting excited about.

Front-runners. Yeah, ok. How about you run out a groundball for the first time all season and then maybe we'll go a little easier on you, you petulant, spoiled little crybaby. **** you, Jimmy Rollins.

Hell yeah, Phillies. What a win.

Back down to second place if we lose to Santana, so let's hope we can keep it going tomorrow and really make a statement.

Guys on WIP made a good point this a.m. Santana has to go out to the mound thinking he has to pitch a complete game. But, doesn't he do the prima donna thing of taking himself out of a game if he's reached a certain number of pitches? Good. Phils should just concentrate on taking pitches in the early innings and see if they can run counts up and/or at least get pieces of the ball and foul off about a dozen pitches a piece!

Maybe Reyes and Tatis can keep hamming it up tonight too.

Oh and I heard Pedro was b1tching about the Phils park last night after they choked. What's the matter Pedro.....we didn't have any 75 year old guys for you to beat up on last night?

Yeah, Pedro the whiner called our park a "bandbox" last night. Yawn. But I wonder, is that the same "bandbox" where our pitchers have a 3.60 ERA this season? And the same one that ranks dead in the middle of the pack on ESPN's park factors list? But hey, let's not let facts get in the way of a good excuse.

Tough to pitch anywhere when you're an ex-power pitcher who can't break 88 on the gun anymore....

I hate to say this, but that was a good comeback win last night by the Phillies. I couldn't believe a 7-0 lead wasn't "safe" (though I did expect the Phils to make it tight).

                        BOO!!!

hehehe...and I like how Rollins said just watching the Mets dugout gets him hyped up to play. Because Reyes and Tatis were acting a fool all night and got their just desserts. Punks. Fernando Tatis fell out of the league after a good start to his career and now he wants to be Mr. Show Off.

I wasn't expecting a win, but I wasn't expecting a loss that way. I absolutely hate Lidge in non-save situations. And how does Seanez throw a low ball to a low ball hitter AFTER the pitching coach comes out and talks to him?

Re: Home of the Philadelphia Phillies

Lots of endgame stupidity tonight. I knew it wouldn't take long for Charlie to disappoint the people who were praising him for last night's win, but I didn't think it would take less than 24 hours. Seanez shouldn't have been in the game in the first place, but you can't let the Mets' hottest hitter hurt you there in a 1-run game. Put him on, do whatever, but don't give him that pitch in that spot. Kendrick's down and in pitch to him was awful too - in the exact spot you can't pitch Delgado.

And then we burn Lidge in the 8th inning of a non-save situation after the barn door's already open - also stupid. If we were willing to use him in the 8th to save the rest of the pen, why wasn't he pitching to Delgado instead of freaking Seanez?

Oh well. I'm content with the split, but this was a very winnable game. Just like the Mets the night before, we nursed a slim lead and blew opportunity after opportunity to widen the margin until we paid for it in the end. Let's hope we can rebound for this tough 4-game set at Wrigley.
