Notes from the first few workouts as pitchers and catchers report:

Brad Lidge is apparently in the best shape of his life. Hopefully can get back to '08 form, or at least 2nd half of '10 form.

JC Romero says he is finally at 100%

    Cliff Lee is awesome

I saw Lee pulled a muscle under his left rib cage. They are saying it's no big deal, but I know all of Philly will collectively hold their breath all Spring anytime one of those 4 comes up lame.

Yeah, his bullpen session was cut short, no one knew why until this came out. I think he will be okay, though

I can't believe the level of "reporting" on such insignficant things. You can even tell Lee is slightly annoyed even having to talk about it. Sheesh.

Eh, Lee seems annoyed by media in general. Just wants to do his job and go home

How do y'all feel about Domonic Brown? What's the general feeling among the Philly Phaithful? I feel like he could be an impact player down the line, but I don't see him having a standout season this year.

That having been said, I saw this on another message board. Obviously it was posted by a Philly fan, lol.

"Domonic Brown > Jason Heyward. In 2011, Dom Brown is going to blow this chump out of the water."

Yeah, a lot of Phillies fans don't know what they are talking about. I do see Brown being a very good player, though

Time to release the kraken....er....the Home of the Phillies thread for 2011.

We enter 2011 as of this post 3-1 in the league, currently dispatching of the Mets w/ a 10-7 lead through 7innings.

                        Sweep of the Padres.

Phillies w/ the best record in the league, but a sputtering offense.

                        15-6; 7-4 Hm, 8-2 Rd.

                        Keep Phightin!

I was moving this past weekend and didn't have internet so was unable to comment in the Cards/Phils thread before it was close...I wanted to just add this: what we saw in that first round is a perfect example of why instead of adding 2 WC teams, I want to see the first round expanded to 7 games. With the series tied at 2-2 and the Phils having Halladay, Lee, and Hamels lined up they are favored to win 2 of 3 there. With a winner take all Game 5, it's a crapshoot. I have NEVER liked those stupid, short 5 game series. The shorter the series, the more it equalizes teams.

I'm not saying they would win the series (especially with Howard gone), but I still like their chances.

Honestly, I think having JMJ at 1st in the theoretical Games 6 and 7 would have benefited us.

Charlie should have given some of Howard's ABs to him too. Specifically the one where Howard let a hanging curve go by and swung at a low and AWAY slider to end it.
