Re: Home of the Philadelphia Phillies

Cliff Lee is dealing tonight! 5-6 start is no big deal. The Phillies will be fine! They had terrible starts in 2007, 2008, and 2009 and look how those years turned out. It's not how you start, it's how you finish!

I don't buy the Nationals hype. I don't care that they are 10-3 right now. It's early. As soon as they bring Harper up, his humongous ego will destroy that clubhouse. Standings are always funky in April anyway.

The Phillies are still the team to beat!

About 20 minutes to game time! Phillies and Padres! This could be a good series for the Phillies to get back on track.

Time to revive and talk Phils post-season.

So somebody please tell me how, after this fire sale of asst. managers, Juan Samuel still has a job?

Congrats to Ryne. He'll look good in a manager's cap in short time.

Oh...and keep this guy around at least one more season:

Juan still might get fired, but I agree. Same with Dubee.

I'm hoping this is Charlie's last season.

Thread is open for 2013 business...

Phillies start the yr 0-1 w/ a 7-5 loss in ATL.

Cole Hamels letting the gopher ball out if its cage.

Chase Utley looked great: HR, 3B, and a double short of the cycle.

I think it was actually a double JB, maybe not. I heard on WIP that Hamels typically has had slow starts/openers for him, can't recall. I think that Charlie outmanaged himself by starting Mayberry over Nix. Let Nix get ahold of a Hudson high mistake and he booms those. Mayberry is anemic against righties. Brown also looked marginal again in the OF. And I'm not sure how long the Re-Durbin experiment lasts. Charlie needs to consider him to be an "only vs. righties" guy in middle innings at best. I'm big on Aumont since last year (when he was overused/overexposed) and Adams will do well.

Can't wait to see Adams in action. I liked the Durbin signing, its just one game so hopefully he rebounds and is fine in his next few appearances.

I hear you on Mayberry, I am kind of done w/ him. I expected him to rise to the occasion last yr, and he just floundered. I agree and think we should def see Nix in their against righties.

Going to the Sunday Kc/PHI matchup, can't wait!

                Edited the Utley mention...

Adams is gonna be lights out for us this year. Gonna be fun to watch.

I agree on Mayberry too. He had his chance to shine last season and he didn't take advantage of it. I understand Mayberry has decent numbers against Hudson, but it isn't a big sample size. Nix should have been in there regardless.

Hamels had a rough night which happens to the best pitchers every now and then. He'll be fine. I really love Ben Revere at the top of the order. Guy is quickly becoming my new favorite Phillie. He is going to be fun to watch for sure.

I'm gonna go with a 4-3 win tonight. Keep Revere and Rollins at 1-2 for now and hope Doc makes it through 6 strong innings (as he'll probably have to use more pitches to get the same job done). Howard gets his first.

And of course Doc has to face the rain elements. Blah.

Justin Upton is off to a hot start as a Brave, or is he just lucky he got to face a lesser Halladay?

Phils can't work any deep counts if they keep swinging at the first damn pitch every at-bat.

Who wants to bet Cliff Lee gets the first win of the season when last year he went on that ridiculous winless streak.

I couldn't care less if he gets the win or not
