Back2Back2Back. Did what they had to do.

Now, it's time to add that third ring...

    Red October starts again, fellas.

          Yep!

          LET'S GO PHILLIES!

I am hoping for a series win in 5, like the rest of our series. But the Yankees are tough though.

So Brett Myers' dumb behind is gone, Cliff Lee's option was picked up and Ruben will hold off on Pedro Feliz until Monday. Meanwhile, a bunch of contracts come off the books...including Jim Thome. Yes.....Jim Thome.

That Jim Thome trade...goodness, never made any sense.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Yeah. But...they needed to make way for Ryan Howard. So, they gave in.

So here we are...Pitchers and cathers report to camp in a matter of weeks, and since P2K's last post updating offseason moves boy how things have changed.

                      Cliff Lee - Gone.
                      Brett Myers - Gone.
                      Pedro Feliz - Gone.

Enter arguably the best pitcher in baseball, Roy Halladay. Former Philly Placido Polanco, and a slew of other component players (back up Catcher Brian Shcnieder, RP Danys Baez, RP Jose Contreras, and utility man Ross Gload), and to me it looks like another championship-contending roster has been put together.

Looks to be another exciting season of Phillies baseball!

Philly has become the place to play

Aren't you scared of the fans?
Why, man? Why? "It was Philly this and Philly that," Werth said. "It was more about the city than the team. But here we are four years later, and Philly is the No. 1 place to play. Everybody wants to come here because of the atmosphere, the crowds, the fans, the sellouts. That's not the way it was a short time ago."
It wasn't like that a short time ago because the product on the field sucked!

Anyways...good article. These are exciting times for a Philly Phan. I'll be purchasing two tickets for Opening Day 2010 to see the Phillies travel to Washington.

I thought it was snowballs.... anywho.

Not a whole lot of scuttlebutt about Moyer 1 hitting the Yanks for almost 7 innings. Ya, it's preseason and all, I know.

Anyone hear Mike Schmidt on WIP this morning with Angelo? What could we conclude here students?

*Angelo doesn't know how to conduct an interview and is stealing money from the station (almost as much as Howeird is).

*Mike Schmidt's ego must be massaged at some point in a conversation or he'll massage it for you.

Opening day... as in opening up a can o whoop *** on the Nationals pitching. Man, this Phillies line-up. I mean outside of slots 1-8, they suck!
