Forgot they had a day game and looking at the box/gameday now. I think the problem starts with Cliff Lee giving up 10 hits and 3 ER.

And what in the world is this "factor":

I'm still not in panic mode yet since it's only April, but they better start turning it around quick. Really hoping having Ruiz back this weekend gives the team a boost.

From games I've watched he has not done a good job at getting in front of balls, let one eat him up today. His Stl% is low as 8 have been able to steal on him, and his catcher ERA is 2nd worst in the league. If he's not hitting, he's a liability IMO.

Yeah Kratz's defense has been horrible this year. Absolutely awful. It's like he forgot how to properly catch pitches

Maybe I haven't been watching as closely. It will be an amazing story if they really turn this ship around after Chooch re-establishes himself behind the plate.

(and also truly platoon Mayberry and Nix to face opposite handed pitchers)

So what starter has the best ERA on the squad currently? I'll give you guys a hint.... his name rhymes with Zyle Zendrick.

The Phillies are 7-3 in games started by Kyle Kendrick, John Lannan, and Jonathan Pettibone. They are 4-11 in games started by Cole Hamels, Roy Halladay, and Cliff Lee.

                Mind boggling.

I think the opposing pitcher in games where Hamels, Halladay, or Lee has started is mainly why.

If only the Phillies could face the Mets the rest of the year, and if Ryan Howard could face Dillon Gee the rest of the year....

I'm hearing the Indians starting rotation is a mess right now. Would be nice to pull neck and neck with the Nats after this series, with the Marlins waiting in the wings, though God knows why they can't score against them.

I think it's safe to say that off day yesterday killed the Phillies momentum.

That, and giving up 7 HR's will do that to you. I don't know if Lee is salivating or shuddering today.

It was shuddering. Especially about the run support, or lack thereof.

This team just cannt find any consistency right now. The offense just sputters for long stretches and they are leaving men on base at ridiculous amounts it seems.

Also, I am going to take a look at Horst's game log to see how many times he's allowed a run. Seems like every app he makes he's either allowing inherited runners to score or allowing an earnie himself. He's seen way too much action so far but this pathetic bullpen has little to no options.
