Actually 2000 was worse.

We didn't even win 90 games and stumbled into the playoffs.

But none of that matters once the playoffs start as the Yankees proved that year by winning the world series against....hmm....i'm drawing a blank here.

They won the division in 2000.

They won more games this year. Just because they were in a weaker division that year doesn't mean they had a better season.

maine is the only 1 who scares me, the other 2 will at least give us a chance. maine can blow up in the 4th or 5th, then we would be in real trouble cause we're not getting 4-5 innings from our pen and winning.

Pretty much, they just got unlucky. I'd rather make the playoffs than have the better record, but that doesn't make them a better team.

But the situations don't compare anyway because the Yankees did make the playoffs. Not much of a difference. Yankees didn't even get homefield advantage in the first round in 2000, so they didn't really have an advantage.
