Hopefully Sowers will step up to be the other part of a 1-2 punch.

We split the series 2-2, actually. It was a four game affair.

Good win last night. Wasn't expecting much out of a trip to Anaheim.

Dang Borowski enough is enough. We have to get a real closer who does not have an 9.00 ERA. This guy scares me everytime he comes into close and nice way to end the road trip.

                  Agreed. Borowski is garbage.

I think we should give it to Bentancourt personally.

                        Re: The 2007 Indians Thread

I could see us making a move for a closer come closer to July. They are going to move a starter for sure, some how we have to keep Carmona in the rotation, and Adam Miller has to come up next year to pitch.

                        Byrd would be my guess.

But makes you wonder if we aren't going to pay CC, if you don't make a major trade with him, or do you let his contract run out and ride him hopefully to the playoffs. Tough decision. Shapiro has pretty much said he can't sign both Sabathia and Hafner. One thing is we're loaded pretty much at both positions in the minors.

I would say Sabathia is gone, but had Michael Aubrey been able to stay healthy, Hafner would probably be the man out this off season.

Carmona is smokin' right now. So happy for that kid. Watched him for a full season at Lake County, have tons of autographs by him. He's very young, and has a bright, bright future.

                          EDIT
On a related note, I've been watching this kid hit all season so far, and he has a MONSTER bat. He's a 3rd basemen, plays pretty decent over there, but his bat is unbelievable.

EG, I heard about that kid... He might be able to overtake Marte in a year or two if he keeps it up...

So when Jake comes back who goes? My guess is Sowers... he's getting lit up right now and can't strike out anyone. And the way Fausto is pitching no way he leaves the rotation.

We have depth at SP right now... in fact, I think we might even trade Sowers for a quality RP guy to make a run at the WS this year....

I'm guessing next years rotation will look like this. C.C., Westbrooke, Lee, Carmona, Miller

                            What do you guys think?

I dunno, I really don't see us re-signing Sabathia. I'd love to, but don't see us matching a 7 year 140 million dollar deal that I'm sure the Yankees are going to throw out there.

I just hope he gives us a hometown discount... and if we can't sign him, we better make a deal like we did with Colon getting Lee, Phillips and Sizemore in return.
