What is the current pitching rotation for the Rangers?. I know Millwood, Padilla and McCarthy but who are the other two?Comment

Re: Your 2007 Texas Rangers thread
Robinson Tejeda and Jamie Wright. Wright will probably only pitch 3 times in April, though, as they go with regular rest for the other 4 starters, and will skip the 5th spot a couple of times.
I was actually impressed with McCarthy last night. He had a couple of bad breaks with the Young error and the GMJ chopper up the middle he couldn't field. Otherwise, he might get out of the first only allowing one run. He was pounding the strike zone, and most likely would have pitched the 7th if so many releivers didn't need the work.Comment

Re: Your 2007 Texas Rangers thread
I wonder why Jamey Wright isn't on the Texas roster?. I've checked the roster at their website and the one over at espn.com and he is on neither. I'm just looking for his jersey number.Comment

Wright ready to go: Rangers pitcher Jamey Wright is spending Thursday in Frisco, where he will pitch for the Double-A RoughRiders in their season opener against Arkansas.
If all goes as expected, the Rangers will purchase Wright's Minor League contract and he'll join the rotation on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
"I'd like to stretch it out a little bit," Wright said. "I'm hoping to go six or seven innings and throw 80 pitches."
Wright would rather be pitching in the Majors, but the Rangers wanted to keep their other four starters pitching on their regular four days' rest. So for Wright, this is a necessary evil.
"I feel like I've been ready to go for a while," he said. "Maybe not to go 110 pitches, but I've been getting stronger every game. My strength and endurance have been better. The hardest part has been sitting around and watching and watching and watching. But that's the first game for those guys so they'll be wired up. I'll go up there and have some fun with those guys."Comment

Re: Your 2007 Texas Rangers thread
Another close game tonight, Rangers just couldn't pull it off. Tonight reminded me how much I can't stand Red Sox fans. Let me rephrase. I can't stand bandwagon Red Sox fans. They know absolutely nothing about baseball, and know two word..."Manny" and "Papi"
I swear, the guy next to me didn't say anything but that the entire game. Plus, he refused to tip the beer guy.
Still, winning two of three from the Red Sox is pretty good. The hitting has got to come around, though.Comment

Re: Your 2007 Texas Rangers thread
The Jet Stream was in full effect last night. Lofton opening the game with a pop up that was pushed out of the stadium. Jamey Wright looked horrible. Since they're not going to need the 5th starter until April 21st, and they have to send someone down on Friday to make room for Gagne, I wonder if he might be one start and done, and Chen or Loe might get a shot at the rotation.
$1 hot dog night tonight, see ya at the Ballpark!Comment
