    Re: LA Angels 2007

I am happy that Colon is pitching well but, man was he off today..6 Runs in almost 5 innings...i guess he is human. I wonder what they plan to do with GA when he comes back, also what they plan to do with Rivera when he comes back too because Willits needs to stay but, hes to young to be a DH for the Angels.. Hillenbrand is hitting with more power. They are going to need to figure somethings out.

Maggs two Homeruns.....hes such a different hitter now with the tigers.

He wasn't even like this last year; he's playing at an All-Star level now.

I hope Willits stays in the lineup when GA returns as well, I did hear they are going to rotate him around the OF just to keep his bat in the lineup.

I hope they keep Willits in LF, and DH GA. I think Anderson is just to brittle to be an every day outfielder. Not sure what to do with Hillenbrand.

            Nice to have some depth.

GA is brittle because of that weird disease that he has...with Arthritis. Also Then what happens to Rivera?? when he comes back....and another thing is they are thinking about getting Giambi which i really think is a bad idea...That will mess up the chemistry with this team.

Plus I think Giambi is due about $20 mil per year for the next couple of years, then has a $5 mil buyout on his option year. No way he's worth that kind of jack. Not to mention he's really not hitting right now anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Rivera packaged in a deal to get a legit power hitter to hit behind Vlad as we get closer to the trade deadline. Problem is the Angels are so unwilling to part with prospects, that getting deals done is tough.

Yeah because their Prospects are freakin Awesome and they are so close to breaking the big leagues..Rivera when healthy is a power hitter..

.300, 20+ HR, 80+ RBI...you can't beat that now an days at a DH or OF field spot..thats what juan can bring to the table. So I don't see them moving him. I just hope they stay with the core guys they have right now...I can see them picking up a bench player but, nothing more at this point..

No kidding, the Angels are pretty loaded in AAA with talent.. Mathis, Wood and Morales along with Evans, Rouwenhorst, Olenberger and Haynes are coming around so far this season. Looks pretty good for the years to come. Went to a 51's came earlier in the year and was pretty impressed.

He's really only had a year like that once hasn't he? And I don't think he's going to scare anyone in to pitching to Vlad. If they can package him, and a prospect and get a legit power guy, preferrably a left handed hitter to stick in that lineup, along with the pitching, defense and speed they already have, I'd be all for it.

Their prospect depth at the upper levels is insane.

Yeah its one season but, it was his first full season so i believe he can do it again. I like the guys talent also you can't beat his arm in the OF one of the biggest arms.

                          Don't forget Brandon Wood, Aybar

I think Wood and Aybar are still a year away from really being ready. Plus isn't Wood still learning 3b?

Kinda off topic, but why list RBIs. RBIs are a stat that come with hits and rely on factors that the batter has no control over. If you wana measure a players success, look at OBP, Slugging, avg., in that order.
