It's about time the Brewers made some noise. They got a nice rotation, a decent pen, some young hitters that are coming around in Weeks, Hardy, and Fielder, and playing in the NL Central.

Agreed, they're running away with the NL Central. When the Cubs are in second place in the division, it speaks volumes.

They might as well call it the "NL Comedy Central".

You should watch some more florida games if you like strikeouts...most in the league by far and the margin will keep growing.

Still, it's a young team that has a feast-or-famine offensive mindset, and with age comes patience.

Yep. The promising thing is that they already lead the NL in runs scored and are either first or second in HRs, so with a little pitching and discipline they could make some noise.

Good game last night, it was nice to see Cabrera come through since he's been struggling with an injured side lately. Willis v. Tomko tonight, should be advantage Florida but Willis's ERA is really high for a 5-1 record (over 5 I think).

I didn't watch the game, but why did Derek Lowe pitch in the 9th inning? Why not turn the game over to the best bullpen in baseball and instead settle for a fatigued Lowe?

By the looks of it, Lowe went into the 9th with 83 pitches and that's really nothing after not exactly being threatened much. Lead off walk leads then error by Betemit + 1 bad pitch down the middle to Willingham =

Well, then it appears the correct decision was made. I'm just more comfortable with the bullpen in clutch, late-game situations to protect the lead than I am a SP with 8 innings on his belt.

Meanwhile, props to the offense for stranding two runners at third. A failure to hit with RISP once again comes back to haunt the Dodgers.

Did I hear that stat correctly? The Dodgers are 4-41 with the bases loaded?

Today's offensive outburst is misleading in every sense of the word. The runs have been scored on a sacrafice fly, a walk, an infield hit, a bloop single, and a single up the middle.

I'm sick of scrapping runs together and skating by with minimal offensive production. I don't mind the small ball approach in certain situations given our solid pitching doesn't need too much run support, but it's a completely inefficient way to score runs.
