Homer's problem is control and the last thing a team needs is a reliever that comes in a walks guys. I dont think the bullpen would help Homer confidence at all.
You are absolutely right about Homer only pitching 60+ innings in AAA. I guess I was thinking that he had pitched more there because we have heard so much about him for going on 3 years now. With that in mind, then I agree AAA is the best place for him. Guess I should check my facts next time.

As far as Joba, it was only an example. Again Nolan Ryan had control issues coming up as well and pitched out of the pen. We saw how his career went...not too shabby.

Either way you are correct, he needs to start in AAA and get his command down. I only suggested he stay in the pros because I thought he had 2 full seasons at AAA and didn't think he had anything left to prove. Looks like he has tons more to prove so hopefully he will.

Mike Stanton ..... Bloody hell just give them mike stanton. i didn't know anybody wanted that fat bastard.

I agree, please just give them Stanton. he is the one guy that is making the team (ok maybe Affeldt is there with him after this spring) that I do not want to see pitch. And as far as nobody wanting him, that may still hold true..lol.

Stanton has actually pitched well this spring and we may need him this year as Affeldt has struggled and Bray has been hurnt. We really dont have any other lefties.

Yeah I would rather not have Stanton...period. Bray has been hurt but he has been great in spring so far so hopefully he on the right track. And Affeldt...boy I hope he can pitch better than he has so far because he has been HORRBILE....HORRIBLE.

But we do need a lefty or two in the pen. I just don't like Stanton and so far I don't like Affeldt.

I now agree this is the best move for Bailey (although I was never against it so much, but now I have reason to be against it after you pointed out my error).

Don't know if it is on FSN or not.

Yeah no surprises there. He's gotta hit the strike zone more consistently.

The Celtics winning their 17 NBA title this year. And this once very proud franchise making a comeback this year.
I grew up in the Terre Haute Indiana area when Larry Bird was at ISU, so I became a huge Celtics fan when I was very young.

yeah honestly.. Bailey pitched his way out of the rotation.. he had plenty of opportunities.. its sad because since he has been in the organization he has struggled to keep his pitch count down.. i was really hoping he would have that fixed, lets hope that he gets it fixed, because that is his biggest problem.. you can't be effective when you run full count on every batter you face.. maybe its like the Bull Durham thing.. stop trying to strike everone out, Strike outs are Facist.. he should throw so more ground balls.. its more democratic.. lol.. but seriously i know as reds fans we don't like hearing the Pitch to contact BS that we have had in the past, but maybe he should consider it.. because if you throw 20+ pitches an inning you can never get out of the 5th.. which runs the bullpen down to the ground.

on mike and mike in the morning they had kurkjian on...asked him his predictions. nl central said cubs, like everyone else. said brewers will be good, golic and kuselias said how about the reds, they're getting some love, any love from you? and tim said yea..they have some young pitchers..but i'm not sold on em. think kuselias even mentioned cueto being the next pedro.

just thought i would throw that out there. i like kurkjian, i hope the reds can prove him wrong and make some noise this season.

I haven't had a chance to hear anyone on tv say his name, but how do you pronounce Cueto? Is it a soft 'c' that sounds like an 's' or is it a hard 'c' that sounds like a 'k'? So Swato or Kwato?

Interesting...I have been calling him Swato like a dumb white boy. Makes much more sense that it should be Kway-to. Thanks.
