Well it turns the wrong has been righted (sort of) with Lind being recalled and taking over in left on a fiull-time basis. Lind is a guy we're gonna need going forward and the only way he's going to get better is by playing in the bigs, which he now has the chance to do. I sure don't believe that Johnson would have been a .308 hitter here, however. Let's face it, the only reason he got cut was his salary, and the Cubs only had to pay him about half of what we were going to. Shows that most teams didn't think he was going to be the Reed Johnson of 2006.

Roy must be sick of not getting any offense. The guy is a Cy Young level pitcher but his stats don't show it really (the W-L stat which writers seem to love thoe most)Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Wells is gonna want to forget this 9th inning, gets robbed by Pedroia stopping a run and then gets a garbage hop and gives up the winning run.Comment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
Gibbons is not doing a bad job as a manager but well...We need a change of culture. We need a hard *** manager to really get on these guys case. I would like to see Bobby Valentine or Buck Showalter in the dugout.
I've heard before the series that if the Jays get swept in Boston then Gibby will be fired. If that's true I sure as hell hope JP brings in someone with LOTS of managerial experience.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
IMO its not Gibby's fault his team doesn't know how to hit once someone hits 2nd, and Wells has pretty much said as much.
I like Gibby going out and showing some emotion, what a BS call that balk was in the 9th especially after Papelbon's obvious flinch not called yesterday. With the pitching the way its going, hopefully the bats come around with a new month and we can go on a roll.Comment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
Well it wasn't pretty but it was a win.
Marcum was DEALING tonight. He seriously had the Chi-Sox hitters confused for the majority of his start. It seemed that he either ran out of gas or got a bit ineffective at the end though.
As bad as our hitting has been I think there's some light at the end of the tunnel. There were some hard hit balls that either got snagged for great plays (that Orlando Cabrera play was something else) or lined to a fielder. I have a feeling this team is due for a big game very soon.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
