I don't mind Rance, I find it funny when Campbell asks him a question expecting one answer then he basically shuts him down. The thing that gets me with Rance is when he says things that basically amount to "always sometimes".

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
Too bad I won't have access to the YES broadcasts when they go to NYY. Yeah they're bombastic blowhards but anything is better then Jamie Campbell.
BTW Rance Muliniks isn't so bad but I hate how he's developed into a very talkative analyst. He was much better when he didn't talk so much.
But Hudler on last night's FSN West broadcast was just ridiculous, he was so loud and chatty. He was even talking about how boring it gets in the booth sometimes and shared a story about how he got his son to give up the pacifier by telling him if he put a bag of his pacifiers up in the tree in the front yard the "passi fairy" would come and take them to babies that need them and bring him presents.
He related the story to when he was on the Phillies with Scott Rolen he advised Rolen to use the tactic on his son and apparently he is going to ask Rolen if it worked out and give the follow up during today's broadcast. Joy! And then he was talking about Star Wars and all sorts of inane crap. Oh and he insists on calling every player on the home and visiting team by a nickname. *shudder*Comment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
Is Paul still there? I'm not sure. I thought it was Ken Singleton. I know for sure they rotate their guys and Ken was doing the Orioles series with Mike Kay.
Hudler, lol, he's constantly high...
I got a question for you guys. I'm looking into ordering a 92-93 Jays DVD set that shows either games or extensive highlights of both World Series seasons...Anyone got any ideas?Comment

Well the pen had to give up a run eventually still, that was a tough way to lose. Hopefully the Jays can take the rubber match tomorrow.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
Ouch. What a painful way to lose two games in a row, first they almost beat Lackey and then they lost today's in the bottom of the ninth. At least it was a .500 trip out west and a lot of us were happy with that projection, hopefully now they can go to the Bronx and get a sweep.Comment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
That was a disturbingly similar game to the ones in April, great pitching but crapping away chances to score on offense. This game should not have down this, pick up those easy add-on runs we should have had at a few different points and it doesnt matter that Kendrick gets hit (even if he did throw his elbow out at the ball).Comment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
The Jays just can't seem to catch a break in the standings either. Nice win streak and gain like 2 games, then lose 2 games and fall 2 more back. They need a big series win vs the Yanks here - hopefully a sweep. Need to beat up on Joba and get to their horrendous bullpen quickly.Comment

Yeah this team just catch a break. The way BJ lost the game reminded me of that game in Oakland where he allowed the game winning HR.
Let's hope the Jays can find their mojo in NY and beat up on the Yanks. Good thing Doc is pitching Tuesday as he's the ultimate slump buster for this ballclub.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
So this isn't really related to the realBlue Jays, but I just finished a game in my franchise in the show and for the first time was checking through the replay vault and I guess I took long enough because the stadium announcer started to go into details over the PA system about all the public transit options available to the fans.
It was quite elaborate too, saying that there would be extra subway cars available at Union and St. Andrews Station, and then gave detailed directions using street names how to get there and also made an announcement about the underground Queen's Quay subway station. Awesome minor details about Toronto in the game.Comment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
That was a nice game all around. The pitching for the Jays battled but got through relatively unscathed and the offensive explosive that I called for against the crappy Yanks pen really came through. If we can work Mussina like we did Chamberlain we'll be looking for the sweep on Thursday for sure, that BP is awful.Comment
